This is why I run outside, treadmill, wherever.
I attempt to burn at least 700 calories a day by exercising which tends to take care of my snacking during the day.

I had bariatric surgery last December and they had a vending machine down at the end of the hall at the hospital with all of the above foods inside. I laughed everytime I walked past the machine. Even though we know those things are bad for us, your article is a good reminder when we are tempted.

Not surprisingly, she neglected to mention that animal crackers, which you can find in a good deal of vending machines, are a good snack which aren't half as bad for you as any of the fried chips or candy bars that you could get instead. That or pretzels are usually what I turn to if I'm starving enough to get something from a vending machine. And yes, this entire article is unnecessary if you possess even a shred of nutritional common sense.

Who has the money to spend on vending machine snacks anyway. Bring a snack from home and you will sure to be eating something healthy, provided you bring a healthy snack!!! I always try to stay away from the vending machines. Who knows how long that stuff as been in there....really been in there.

The solution to this dilemma is not to go to the satanic snack machine. Bring a container with fruit or a yogurt instead. There is no healthty food in my snack machine!

I read this article, hoping for some useful information. I found none. I know to avoid all of that stuff. And even if there was a cold vending machine with Yoplait Light, I wouldn't eat it... I'm allergic (sucralose aka splenda, aspartame aka nutrasweet, and saccharin). And one of the comments said to avoid high fructose corn syrup... why? It is made from corn and it sweetens things naturally-- something I am NOT allergic to. I prefer a payday bar if I can find it because of the protein in peanuts or I do the "least of all evils" method of choosing.

Does this person work for whatever company makes 100-calorie packs? Why not title this article "Just skip the vending machines and carry a yogurt and an apple in your purse"? Incidentially, vending machines often carry pretzels and nut-raisin mixes that are not as high in calories, but there's no mention of those in the article. The "advice" given in here is just plain idiotic.

Mike G!!! I am totally displeased with the comment you made about WOMEN!!!! Because of that comment, that makes me think that is why you are so miserable so you LOVE these snacks. Does this make you happy degrading WOMEN?!?!?! Watch your mouth!!! I am a woman and I am work out everyday at the GYM!!! And I am very proud!!!

Eat a peach and or a banana like I am right now as I write this sitting at my desk here at work. Nothing better than a large piece of fruit or a veggie.

Somehow i knew the fact that chips, and fast foods out of a vending machine are detrimental to one"s health, now that i'm reading the content of calories, fat, and carbs, vending machine should be prohibited to minors , just like cigarrette machines!

well hungry girl you sure have a point. now i know where all my fat came from snacking on those above mention items while working 8 hours a day inside a small office all coupe up and no where to go and don't forget the stress that office co workers and management brings. those tiny little snacks are like drugs that take you away just for a few minutes. i will try my best though to eat healthier thank you sweetie

Perhaps everyone could ask for 100 cal bags and energy bars in vending machines- at work. Promote refrigs and microwaves at work, perhaps the stress of rushing family and self to school and work, then home to more work and constantly hearing advice, how paying more taxes and being told what to do by experts has created stress ful eating?

I'm tired of seeing the diet sodas take the slam. I drink AT LEAST 4 liters of the stuff per day, and I am 40 years old, 5'3" and 110 lbs. I do work out like a fiend, though.
I don't find that diet soda makes me hungrier, and if aspartame or sucralose were truly as deadly as the alarmists like to shout, I'd have been dead years ago.
