I agree, ever since I tried turkey sausage, I have never gone back. Also, the Boca Burgers are delicious. They taste just like regular burgers, and are extremely lowfat. (3 - total WW points if you add mustard, ketchup, pickles and onions on a 2 point bun). I prefer to have mine BBQ'd, but pan-frying in a small dab of olive oil is also good. Season it just like you would any other burger. ;-)

The Morning Star ground beef crumbles had me fooled the first time I ate them. My mother mixed them with a taco seasoning packet and didn't tell us that it wasn't hamburger. Those were some of the best tacos I ever had. I was surprised to find out that they were meat-free.

I don't like the morning star crumble that much. But all the other morningstar products, like the beef and chicken stripplets are so good! And the breakfast scramblers are to die for!

Red meat is not healthy. Recently a correlation between eating red meat and cancer was established. Also, it has a high correlation with other diseases, such as coronary diseases. Further, it is very destructive to the environment. If you stop eating red meat, you will do more to save the environment than not driving. So this article is rather ignorant and outdated.

Quit lying to yourselves, if you want a hamburger, eat a hamburger, if you don't? Then eat a plant or something, why do you have to lie to yourselves and try to shape soy into something you crave? Lack of will power if you ask me.

gotta lose my belly I just consulted with a doctor who is an expert in weight loss and the dogs are fine,as we age we get metabolic syndrome,he said, and a modified Atkins or South Beach hi protein low carb diet, getting off as much sugar/starch as possible,is what seems to be cutting edge according to him,so eat all the meat and eggs you want gorge yourself, just cut back to maybe one potato and no milk just cream,no bread, corn just google atkins or south beach and you'll lose weight,I am told.

How dare you refer to vegetarian items as meat this article was misleading. For the love of flesh please dont do that. I support veggie heads in there efforts to keep the animals going, I can eat meat and fish alot longer in this world with the more vegetarians. God bless them, but give me the same respect I give them dont try to convert me, I dont do it to them

You can still eat organic meat, beef or whatever, as long it is only occasionally. I have lost 35 pounds in last 6 months eating organic beef and turkey meat in tacos once or twice a week. I also eat organic steaks about once a month. You just have to not load up your tacos with cheese and sour cream. Instead put organic avacado and soy cheese, along with some great salsa on your tacos. Also I always use organic corn tortillas, that are low in fat and calories. It's all about portions too...only have 1 or 2 tacos.

If you're craving meat but don't want the fat check out the rabbit at PurePork.net. You can check out the nutritional value of food at this USDA site http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/

I hate anything that is not meat, but is suppose to taste like meat. I do like garden burgers as they are not trying to make them taste like meat. I prefer to make low fat things with turkey or chicken myself.

I enjoy the Jimmy Dean low-fat sausages. Not the best choice, but great after a night out at the bar! Certainly nothing a little exercise wouldnt burn off.

and all of these products will only double your food bill. Why is fake meat more expensive then real meat? Eat what you want in MODERATION, excercise, and drink water.

I highly highly recommend Ball Park Turkey Franks. They are about 50 calories each and no fat. I put my spicy mustard and some sauerkraut on there and I absolutely cant tell the difference. I ate two of those a day for lunch with some fruit on the side during my diet and it really helped me lose weight. With rolls and fruit, it ends up being about a 300 - 350 calorie lunch.
i was vegan for 10 or more years now i eat almost an all meat diet, that means no joint pain, rotting teeth, gas, gas, gas! i you are young eat this crap now because you body like you teeth cannot survive on a all glucose/sugar/dreamworld diet.i lived this lie, and i smelled like a bull, so dream of eden, and live on this grass diet. this earth was never a paradise!!a former rasta(i kept my dreads)

I being a carnivore and if I want meat I'll eat meat no matter what anyone tells me. I do eat a lot veggie but I would eat them the way my parents and grandparent did, raw or semi-cooked and yes there are dangers involved mishandled food or pestdicides. Plus they look like veggies. Also for # 25 QUILTYD. Its not cows that destry the environment, its people. Do you really think the rainforest is cut down by ranchers, think again its by farmers growing guess what crops for ethenol and veggies for a growing population. Want to save the planet, have everyone practice birth control.
