These snacks are awful. All of them are from processed foods that have a ton of sugar, salt or preservatives. Try some peanut butter on a cut up apple, banana or celery. Or some plain greek yogurt with honey and berries. Your body will thank you.

Suzanne: Speaking as someone who is sick of hearing about "we're busy and have homes to run so we have to eat crap" let me remind you that most of our mothers were busy and had homes to run and managed to feed us without resorting to Dow chemical. Maybe you should ask your parents how THEY did it instead of being suckered.

Some of these ideas are great, and some are not the best, but why are so many of you so against it. If you don't want to eat it, don't! HG is not forcing anything down your throat, she's simply offering some ideas to your diet in check. It's better then to live on soup and oranges like one of my friends or order pizza every time food comes in mind, like my husband. It's not like I can force anything healthy down his throat, but I do sometimes throw away the pizza he ordered and boil some vegetables.

Alright. I agree that we shouldn't be eating processed foods all the time, but they are easy to prepare and can save you time. Now, I am a High School teacher and feel the need to speak to little Ketelone whatever. If you have such negative issues, take them to your therapist and don't try to make people you don't even know feel bad about themselves because you clearly have nothing better to do with your time. I mean, 6 posts?!?! You need to get a life. As for the rest of the positive people in here, do what you can to lose the wieght and keep going! I lost 60 pounds eating little snacks like this and have kept them off for 5 years and counting.

Commercial shill. That's all it is. If she wasn't then there wouldn't be any brand names attached to this ridiculousness. Sad thing is, fake PR columns like this actually induce people to buy lame products.

Try this for a low cal, satisfying and delik meal-breakfast or dinner. One chunk of pumkin steamed, one carrot steamed, 1/2 broccoli steamed. Garnish with sour cream, celery and broiled turkey.

I guess it would be too obvious to eat things that are not man-made, like fruits and vegetables. Who in the world would really want to eat things they don't know how to pronounce?

I'm a food marketing major and I know about all the "dangers" (none of which have been proven scientifically) of processed foods and chemicals. The simplist rule of thumb to live by is eat how your grandparents ate (as long as they lived a healthy life to a ripe old age). My grandparents ate all kinds of foods (organic did not exist 10 years ago) fruits, veggies, processed foods, sweetners they both lived past 90 with a great quality of life! So to all you people complaining about the unhealthy processed foods that will make you sick, i want to let you in on a little secret the computer you sitting on is probably giving you cancer. Just remember one simple rule EVERYTHING in moderation, and you will be fine!

I can hardly believe what I'm reading here. Most overweight people have a serious addiction problem and if people don't understand that and had rather bad mouth them then what is our world coming to. I enjoy reading anything that will help me with my addiction to food. I have tried Hungry Girl ideas and some are good and some I didn't care for. However, it is only a matter of taste and preference. We are not all "little" clone people!!!!!

Geez, it seems as if there are people who post on these blogs just to leave nasty comments to others. Ignore them!!! I myself prefer full-fall cheese (mmm, dairy),fresh fruits and veggies, but I like to read these blogs because they do offer alternatives. Use your imagination to create foods YOU enjoy. It's all a matter of taste. Besides, I'll take the brocolli nachos over a greasy burger and salt-ladden fries any day...

Thank you HG for a variety of ideas, my kids love the kashi crackers and laughing cow cheese. Here is another idea that some may like. Use the 6" skewers in the grilling area. Alternate cheese chunks, apple, pineapple, grapes, peppers, and turkey/ham to make a healthy Kabob.

How sad that I small situation had become such a big ofensive comment. That telms me that the eating problem or healthy choises go very far inside people mind. Your attitude show a lot of what you have or are as people. That why we have some many problems in childrens that come from pleople like you! You should be achame of yourself.
