Whether you're a rookie cook or a master chef, we think you'll appreciate some of Hungry Girl's favorite kitchen items. They're fun and functional.... Check 'em out!

Fruit Combo Rack

Need a cute kitchen accessory to convince you to eat more fruit each day? This see-thru dispenser "creates a Congo line of delicious, healthy fruit..." We LOVE that! Hang your bananas from the hook so they don't get banged up laying around on the countertop. And load your favorite round fruits into the slide-like contraption for a quick fruit fix on your way out the door. Weeee!

The Edge Brownie Pan

Do you LOVE the chewy-edged pieces of a pan of brownies so much that you eat them all first, leaving the mushy pieces in the middle for everyone else? Well, guess what?! Now everybody can have crispy-cornered, fudgy brownies with this funky baking pan. It's been on The Martha Stewart Show and it's got its own MySpace page! (And Hungry Girl is in its Top 24!) The pan couldn't be cooler if it tried...

Stoneware Egg Separator

Are you an egg-whites-only omelette eater? Or maybe you just need a good laugh in the kitchen. Either way, we think this little guy is a must! Just crack an egg over his head, tilt him over a bowl or pan, and your lovely egg white will come dripping out of his nose! Oh stop pretending to be offended. It's FUNNY!!!

ForkChops

We love Chinese and Japanese food (especially sushi!). Who doesn't?! But truth be told, we're a little spazzy with the chopsticks. These too-cute utensils are part chopsticks, part fork 'n' knife! They come in a crazy variety of colors, so you could even color-coordinate 'em with the rest of your kitchen if you wanted. HG Warning: You may get laughed at if you break 'em out at your local sushi bar.

A $30 brownie pan??? That's several days' worth of groceries for me and my husband. Or a half-tank of gas. I might make brownies twice a year. Interesting idea, but the price is ridiculous.

This inflated junk is far from must have for a kitchen! What is wrong with a fruit bowl? And the brownie pan is a waste of money since you can only bake specific items for it as opposed to a traditional tray which has multi-uses. Here are some real must have kitchen gadgets: Blender Grater Can Opener Handblender Baking Tray and Pan Dutch Oven Stock Pot Sauce Pan Castiron Pan Frying Pan 2 quality knives for meats and vegetable cutting Cutting Board. There you go, pretty much the only things you need for cooking, and most will get more use than once a year.

These HG gadgets wouldn't be on my must have list. Cute? Must have NO. Almost all my kitchen devices and gadgets serve more than one function. I always go for quality, not quantity.

You don't need a $30 pan for crusty brownies. Use a muffin or cupcake pan. Then you can individualize them for people (like my sister) who doesn't eat nuts or add chocolate chips or coconut for those that do like them.

I love the idea of using a muffin pan to add different things to brownies. I never thought of it. I have so many picky eaters.

I have to agree with those of you that say this isn't so much of a MUST HAVE list. Ok the fruit thing is cool, but I like my apples and oranges cold, so it would be pointless for me. As for the egg white separator, I think I would lose my appetite after seeing the snot like substance driping from it's nose. Bleah!

the fruit rack is super cute, but if you're going to put apples and bananas together, BAD idea....apples help speed up the riping process for bananas...they'd probably completely brown within a day or so(unless you're going to cook ripe bananas in a recipe)...bleck. And I totally agree with the outrageous pricing with the brownie pan!! Just go out and buy a mini cupcake pan...much much cheaper. Plus, I LOVE the soft, gooey brownies in the middle of the pan....have the burnt crusty goodness!!

I like the fruit rack a lot! Great idea to get family to eat more fruit but I wonder if it is low on fruit, does it tip over? Like if you just have the bananas hanging, does it tip? But a really cool idea. Our family is trying to be more veggie in our eating habits since learning about factory farms (just horrible places for animals and also really unsanitary...animals are stuck in their own filth 24/7 and also get sick due to disease everywhere). So this will help with our switch to eating more fruits and veggies.

i agree with all about the cost. i love the looks of the fruit dispenser...but $20 plus shipping i'm sure!! it does look elegant. but c'mon. you could still make money if it was $10 including shipping, if you shipped u s mail and not ups!!!

With the neverending rise in costs of food & fuel I do not think that any of these items are "Must Haves". None of them stand out to me at all in fact. I suggest that the next article be about PRACTICAL TIPS & SHORTCUTS.
