Horay i sleep for the right amount of hours. I dont go to a gym because i think its pointless if i want to loose weight then i will do what i always do, it isnt much but i have been loosing weight every week. ill be hot for summer. Every day after work i go for a half an hour bike ride (bikes are on sale at walmart) followed by a glass of diet tea from http://www.wulongforlife.com and the right amount of sleep. The two are not only natural and cheap but effective.

Today she is so so so very right on. I have been losing the same 15 pounds over and over again and I believe if I could just grasp these four little things, I would lose that 15 pounds forever more.

Diet pills..wow.. I can tell u alot about them! First of all they can become very addictive if you stay on them for longer than 3 months. I am talking about the prescription drug phentermine. I had taken it in the past to jump start my metabolism and it worked, however if you take them for longer than 3 months it can get sticky. Do they help YES!!! They do, however they effect your personality and make you extremely edgy and/or irratible. Personally I won't take them again...they changed me. After the 3 month period it was like..just another month.. another and another..before I knew it, it had been a year and I had lost alot of weight, but I almost lost my marriage too and that wasn't worth it!

um...measuring your food? That's a sign of an eating disorder. You should eat until your full- no more no less. here's the best tip for a healthy lifestyle: workout and eat right. We all know what's bad for our bodies: just choose to stop ignoring it. enough with this diet bull [profane]. Not everyone is supposed to be a rake handle.

I wouldn't recommend diet pills. The best course of action for long term health is adjusting your diet and becoming more active on a daily basis. With this method, I think you're less likely to relapse because you are actively altering long term habits. I've done this, and in the past 4 months, I've lost about 30 pounds.

Well, coffee is one good natural fatburner, but to add more to it, id suggest make ure coffee without milk, add honey instead of sugar, and squeeze lemon in it. Thats the ideal mix for fat burning.

Drinking coffee before a workout is a good and bad idea. The good is that it gives you a bit of energy and does increase metabolism (it will increase your metabolism any time of day). The bad part is that caffiene dehydrates you and that is a HUGE no-no when doing any excersise. If you must drink coffee before a workout make sure you are compensating with an increase in water.

from personal experience, if you're following a carb restricted diet, you probably wouldn't be having issues with hunger. normally, if you wait awhile, the feelings will pass. whatever you decide to do, make sure you read the labels on everything you put into your mouth for consumption...whether it be solid or liquid.

To the person working shift work. I used to live in an industrial community where 3/5 of the population was on shift work. There has actually been literature written about how to eat when you are working nights. It increases health risks due to poor sleep patterns etc. Don't have any access to the information any more but if you do a web search or talk to a health clinic I am sure you would find something.
The biggest thing was to not to try to follow a normal daytime eating routine. Switch your meals around. Have breakfast before you leave for work just as you would if you worked days. Don't have a heavy meal just before you go to bed. I can't remember much more but it is an issue for a lot of people on shift work.
A brief visit to a dietician might behelpful as well.

This is in response to babehmf@verizon.net comment. Make sure you are staying away from the fast foods. I know an 11-7 shift is pretty awkward times of the day and its hard to get a good meal in. Plus you are probably eating dinner past 8 which is also a no no. I would suggest this. Wake up at 8 and immediately hit the gym. The mornings are the best time to workout. If you cant do that, then workout at night when you come home from work. I know you're probabaly tired from work, but if you stick to one of these ruitines you'll be good. Also, make sure you eat a light dinner since your eating late. Avoid eating early at work and going for the crap foods. If you choose to work out in the morning, make sure you're getting to bed by 10. If you choose to workout at night, make sure you get enough sleep in the morning. Try for 4 times a week. If you do this and eat right, you'll lose the weight fast.

Why are you all trying to find the answer to loosing weight with pills, counting calories, and so much more?
It is very simple: Include as much as you can fresh fruits and vegetables (they are very easy to cook and not so much time needed as well) in your everyday diet aside from meats and fish, stay away from fast food, exercise at least three to four times a week (at least 25 minutes) and smile to all your problems so they can fade away without worries or loos of sleep. This way you make your money worth, and you don't spend it with pills and doctors and therapists and much more after that, because when it starts it never finds its way out to stop. Use plenty of oil oil in your diet, fresh lemons and most important garlic. You all are so blessed with all of the above being available to you every day all year long. Make good use of it and don't complain. Don't loose track of your life's direction. Good luck to you all and live healthy, be happy and enjoy this life.

To kiki.... Taking diet pills depends on your health. If you have any health problems, I would consult with a dr. first. But if you have no symptoms I would recommend phentermine... Phentermine is the generic brand of Adipex, but works the same. Thats what i use to shed some weight... But, the key to the diet pills is you must workout at least 30 min a day and eat right, if not then what's the point in taking them. You'll feel like as if you've wasted money. But, I must warn you... The diet pills make you feel wired and makes your heart race when u first start taking them. So becareful in taking diet pills. They aren't the safest. Bad for your heart. You know how they say the bad stuff is what works.....

Here is a question for anyone who can answer at this point. Does it matter what time of day you go to the gym and work out? I have heard from a few people that say you NEED to work out in the mornings or you will not lose weight. Is this true? Does working out have to be in the morning or right after you wake up instead of before you go to sleep? Any Help is welcome here. Thank you!

About the diet pills. If they really worked all the people that have invested lots of money in trying different ones would be skinny. Now some people I know have taken them and they insist that they curb their hunger. Just try snacking...healthy snacks though! I eat every two-three hours. I have a snack such as an apple or some rice cakes in between. I also def make sure to eat a snack before my workout. Give me a little extra energy. Everyone just needs to stay away from processed foods. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies and make sure you get those good cards in there for energy. And of course don't forget your protein!!

But you need to be careful if you are going to drink coffee before a work out. Coffee does amp up your metabolism but it also increases heart rate and blood pressure so if you add working out to the mix it could be very dangerous. So if you already feel gittery from the coffee its probably not a good idea to work out on that too. You might pass out!

Babehmf - Try getting laid. Has an incredible effect on your condition overall. Better yet, have sex in a dark room to increase your melatonin. Oh, and drink a cup of coffee prior so it really "AMPS UP" the experience.... But don't forget to count those 'liquid calories'... ; ]

Diet pills are a sham. You should eat a good breakfast everyday, that is the time to get most of your breads and grains in. Also this is when you should consume sugars, I'm not talking candy bars or anything like that, it should be natural sugars from fruits. Also eat meat for breakfast, such as ham and egg whites. Then have a small lunch like a salad with tuna fish and a fat free dressing. People tend to make a Big Mac out of a salad with dressings and cheese as well aas bacon. Then eat a medium dinner no later than 6:30. If you don't eat you will gain weight. Your body kicks in a natural storage mode, so most of your fats will be stored as if in some survival mode. Use a tape to check your waist and not just a scale, you may gain more muscle which weighs more than fat. Make sure you have a good excercise program, if you don't have much time, 30-45 minute callestenics is very good, plus run alot if you can. With the right mind and determination, anyone can accomplish their goals. You will feel a lot better about yourself if you do!

If people would stop DRINKING: milk, juice, soda, diet soda, smoothies, milkshakes, caramel lattes, etc. in ADDITION to cutting food calories, what a difference it would make!! Buying and selling soda pop should be a crime!!
Hey everyone!! My big diet secret?? Water!! Straight from the tap (well, filtered). Tastes great and keeps my weight wayyy down.

I've been working out 5 days a week for a year and 1/2 and have only lost 12 lbs. Right now I walk 2.25 miles (40 minutes) with arm weights for 10 minutes and do 25 minutes on the elliptical at level 4. I KNOW this is because my portions are too large. I usually eat pretty healthful stuff, but I eat like a line backer. It's tough: I'm working on eating smaller portions and dealing with my hunger, I've developed a lot of bad habits in my late 30s that I have to work out in my late 40s. I think the tips given here are helpful and I appreciate reading everyone's feedback. Thanks and good luck to you all.

It's real simple, eat plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, excercise 4 times per week, minimum 30 minutes, sleep from 10pm to 6am (when possible), avoid red meat and soda (especially diet) and it will be virtually impossible not to be at your ideal weight, which varies for everyone depending on bone structure, don't be fooled by charts in a doctors office that has ideal weight ranges based on height...
