Wondering how affordable these products really are... does anyone know how much more do they cost? And please don't give me the line of which is more important your health blah di blah... for those of us who have budgets constraints it does matter what we pay...

This applies to guys as well. I lost over 70 pounds in the last year. Stopping soda altogether by drinking water and lmiting my coffee intake were key elements in my success. For an experiment, I drank diet cola (the two major name brands) and put 15 pounds back on as a result. They're off the table again and suddenly I'm 5 pounds less. Bottled water doesn't do much, but tea is a nice change as well. Good luck folks. It can be done and in a healthy way too.

Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but do people really have the money right now to be buying fancy drinks...hell, that PoM juice is like 3+ a bottle. If I want a healthy alternative I think that I will resort to orange, apple, cranberry juice...or water thanks.

Personally, my favorite pop alternative is just plain old carbonated water with a squeeze of lime. No checicals, crap, maybe a little sugar from the lime, but your not going to get fat off of it. Plus, it actually quenches your thirst compared to pop, especially diet pop that always makes me thirstier. Try it, as a 2 liter of carbonated water is ~70 cents and limes are usually 2-3 for $1.

Stevia is "up and coming" and "all-natural"? Not according to the MS-Chem. E. I asked. He says NATURAL Stevia is GREY, not that sweet, and tastes like licorice. The stuff you get in packets and drinks has been heat treated and may not be safe, according to him. On the other hand, sucralose (Splenda) is boneded with a chlorine molecule so it passes through your body inertly.

What about vitamin water? That is the best drink to get your mind off of sodas. That is what I drink.

this looks like a paid advertisement page! why not just change to natural, fresh squeezed fruit juices? why not just stop buying any kind of soda? why not just tell people to drink water (or sparkling water if they miss the bubbles)?

artificial sweeteners actually make burning fat harder so how can any of these drinks (except for the metromint waters) be any better for you than a diet coke or pepsi?

Crystal Lite is still my favorite, love the Raspberry Green Tea and the Mandarin Orange Tea (INCREDIBLE!) but i will stick to my diet soda to attend to my massive caffeine addiction. but im slowly getting into the Crystal Lite with caffeine, just has kind of an aftertaste to it, but the strawberry is ok.

All sodas are horrible. Stick with water and juice. You will lose weight just by ditching soda and alcohol. Although I love booze.

What's wrong with plain filterd water from the tap or brita pitcher? You are already paying for it so drink it! You can add lemon, lime juice or other flavors yourself (essential oils are great for this,I use peppermint in my water all the time). I agree with the other comment on about all the crazy diet stuff on here, it is unhealthy advice and it's dangerous.

I love how reporters and Universities use animal studies to equate behavior in humans. Well, this rat ate more calories when consuming artificial sweetners, so it must be the same with humans. My God, someone take a social science class! I will continue to drink my diet coke/pepsi and stick with my eating habits. If you work out, run, and/or stay active and eat sensibly, you do not have to worry about your diet soda. Now, if you are eating fast food habitually and sit on your butt watching TV all day, then, yes, your diet soda is not doing you any good and should not be used as justification for doing those things....
