The Morningstar Farm ones taste better, but they do not make one that is only 70 calories like the Boca Burger.

I hate Boca Burgers because they DO taste like meat. I much prefer the Mushroom Lovers from Morningstar Farms, and Dr. Praeger's are okay. I agree with #30 - isn't it kind of the point to get away from meat, including things that taste like it???

I went vegan about a year ago and the that's when I first tried the original Boca Burgers. They were absolutely disgusting! I agree with the poster who said that they seemed a bit too soy for her. As for the Boca Chick' N Patties, however, they were actually really good and tasted like actual chicken.

I like to limit my red meat intake. So, I use the Boca crumbles in any recipe that calls for ground meat. And even my die-hard anti-veggie father can't tell the difference!! It's fabulous! As far as just for burger patties--I seldom have hamburger night--so I haven't tested that water.

A real Hamburger does NOT taste like death and there is NO substitute for the REAL thing !!! I can go VEGAN for a little while, but I will always enjoy a good STEAK,piece of CHICKEN, LAMB, or SALMON. Don't get me wrong, I love a good SALAD and I love all Veggies and Fruits even Soy. There's always going to be a part of me that is a MEAT and POTATO man. Long live CARNIES!!!

I agree with chelseamrs. Vegetarian is not animal, and shouldn't be expected to taste like it. But it is easier to go vegetarian if you don't have to sacrifice the flavors you've grown accustomed to. You get used to other flavors fairly quickly, but it's nice not to have to start out "cold turkey". Also, most processed "burger" products do contain some form of animal product, so read the label carefully. After 15 years as a vegan, the best product I've found for substitution is the ground soy "sausage" from LiteLife. Just cook up like regular sausage, but add a little sage and garlic powder. Really good, and the texture is the same as meat, so it's easy to switch over. I can also tell you how to make gravy for biscuits and gravy without using any real meat. My daughter, who is not vegetarian, loves it and won't eat anything else!

I agree with chelseamrs...people trying to cut fat should search for the most "meat" tasting veggie burgers...but vegetarians looking for "real" tasting? Why would they want that? I'm all for not eating animals, but I don't get why these hard core veggies are so concerned with whether or not the veggie burgers taste like real animals...

We used to eat the Veggie Patch Garlic Portabello burgers and fake chicken burgers. Now we like the Quorn fake chicken burgers. They have no soy- they're made from mushrooms- but they taste chicken-y and are delicious with salsa and chesse.

Being a vegetarian for the simple fact that eating an animal makes me want to throw up I can't wrap my mind around eating anything that resembles the real thing... I don't get the concept of a vegie burger...unless it's just for people who want to cut down on fat and calories. Meat= our world's obesity epidemic.

One awesome twist on the Boca burger is to add gaucamole(wait that doesn't look right) and some salsa on a toasted whole wheat bun. I use baby organic spinach instead of lettuce and the soy mexican cheese. It is amazing and even non-vegans love it plus a frozen Boca burger is bun ready in the microwave in about a minute. Now thats an awesome lunch for a girl in a hurry!

I absolutely can't believe some of the comments on this site. It just goes to show that most vegetarians are very uniformed. Meat does not equal the obesity epidemic. The real culprit is high fructose corn syrup--yup, you guessed it, a veggie by-product. While most red meats are high in fat, the key here is moderation. Considering the fact that we have evolved WITH incisors, this should be proof enough that we were made to eat meat. Not only that, though not a perfect system, the human produces enzymes to break down fats., If we were truly meant not to consume animal fats, this ability would not exist. Vegetarianism is a preference. Many people do turn to fake meat products to lower the amount of fat in a diet that might consist of excess fat consumption , which is why they would prefer a product that tastes more like meat. You herbivores out there shouldn't make these people feel bad. They are only trying to eat a bit healthier. You are entitled to your own opinions, but not everybody, including evolutionary science thinks like you. Here's something else to ponder, say one day in the far future everyone adopts a full vegetarian life-style. Think about where herbivores sit on the food chain. I'll give you a hint...there are none on top. It shall defintely suck to see the day when we become food for the next species that rests above us in the higher eschelance of the chain. Thus, we are omnivores for a reason....meat eating to insure our place high on the food chain and plant eating to ensure our survival in case of massive biological evolution here on earth. THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. So if you are endorsing a vegetarian diet for the sake of your health-- good for you! If you are embracing it solely because "we weren't meant to eat meat" you are by and by a moron and Im sure they'll be plenty of folks millions of years from now to gobble you and your crunchy kin up. Just my 2 cents;)

Gardenburgers are the best! I brought some to a BBQ and even the meat eaters were going back for seconds. I have yet to be able to finish a Boca Burger & end up throwing them away.

I really, really love Boca Burgers, crumbles, sausage, lasagne.....just Boca products period!!! My oldest and I are veg heads, but my youngest and my husband are straight carnivors and they even love the Boca line. Try the faux beef & chicken strips....they are GREAT....especially in fajitas. I think people will find going VEG is not as hard as it seems with all these delicious products. We love Silk Soy Milk as well...especially the chocolate!!!!

I'm a HUGE fan of Morningstar Farms' Grillers Prime. I've tried a lot of veggie burger brands, but Grillers Prime is by far the best. I find that Bocas have a bad aftertaste, but I DO prefer their crumbles to Morningstars....it all comes down to how big you like "ground beef"...plus it comes in a convenient little package that's two servings. I used it in Hamburger helpers a lot but now I'm on a low-carb diet so I usually put the crumbles in a salad or cut the grillers prime into strips for a nice salad :) Oh, and for those of you that eat Morningstar's original patties, grillers prime don't have all of the extra grease and are much bigger. Either way, Hungry Girl rocks and as soon as I hit maintenance I'm gonna crack open that new cookbook and have an HG party with my buds :)

I think a really good veggie burger is President's Choice Lentil bean buger. It's SO AMAZING, and only has 1.5 grams of fat if I remeber correctly. It's so good that I don't even eat with with a bun! I just eat the buger alone and it is really filling b/c of all the beans. It's a great nutritional choice!
