Lisa Lillien is a lazy writer who doesn't bother to research beyond calories and fat. Remember, she is NOT a nutrishionist, a fact she displays proudly. You should take all of her advice with a large dose of skepticism. Eat balanced meals, exercise, don't over eat and, very importantly, read the ingredient list. List is not Hungry girl, she's Lazy girl.

did any of you watch "The Office"n last week? The whole office was involved in a weight loss competition. So Dweight took out all of the bad food in the vending machine and loaded it with fruits and veggies. By the end of the episode the whole vending machine was full of rotted food and flies. it was pretty funny. Sorry for the randomness but it kind of goes along:)

HG, good stuff! The only beef I have is with the Yoplaits; they are fat free, but they are loaded with sugar! If possible, make your own from plain yogurt and fresh fruit or sprinkle savory spices on it.

I am so tired of Yogurt commercials and yogurt "pushers". I hate yogurt, it's nasty, and when I have forced myself to eat it (to regulate my digestive tract), it leaves me very unsatisfied and hungry.

There are other important factors in eating health than just calories and fat content. For example, Yoplait Light is made with Aspartame, which should be avoided at all cost. Also, you should avoid foods that have been artificially jacked with, like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Real butter is infinitely better for you because it is natural. Just don't eat very much of it. And are you kidding me? Nacho Cheese Quaker Quakes? What the hell is in that stuff anyway? Artificial cheese-like powdered food stuff...ick! You'd be much better off with some real cheese. The advice in this article is horrible. Always, always eat natural.

I'm munching on some Yoplait (Pink lid ) Passion fruit yogurt and Honey & oat granola right now. I keep my desk full of healthy goodies and snacks. And down it all with a bottle of water.

My company gives us breakfast every morning, bagels, croissants, muffins, cereal...the healthy stuff gets a little blurred when I'm looking at that Everything bagel. Also, my company provides snacks throughout the day, chips and dip late morning (I try to stick to the carrots and hummus) and candy, cookies and other sweets in the afternoons. It's tough sometimes when you hear that big bag of M&Ms open up and hear each of them fall into that glass bowl. It's like Pavlow's dog, I tell you! LOL I'm posting this article up in the kitchen!

This food is all chemically enhanced. Real food is better. Plus, I thought studies show that if you constantly “diet” everyday by eating sugar-free or fat-free foods, you won’t be satisfied and end up binging. I grew up in a household full of this fake food and am so tired of it. If I want yogurt, I want to eat real yogurt….not fat-free saccharine goop. Rice cakes? Have Americans gotten any skinnier since we started eating these bland disks in the 1980s?

Why is it assumed everyone works in an office? Some people work at Walgreens, UGH .... heh. I snack on 100 cal packs and fruit. I'm still hungry, but its the price for not gaining weight.

I would definitely eat fresh fruits, veggies and NATURAL things before heading for the Yoplait... If the ingredient looks like a foreign language, I don't eat it... Greek Yogurt with fresh fruit, salads with balsamic vinegar( although a little sugar)... and bare naked granola are my favorite. Breakstone yogurts are good ... they're organic and taste much better than other yogurt for some reason. PLUS there's fat free yogurt without Aspartame! yippee!!! i like to mix orange juice and seltzer water for a nice drink when im craving soda.. AHhhhhhh

These are good tips, but you make it sound like people can never let themselves have a treat once and a while. If you deprive yourself entirely, it will just make you unhappy and eventually result in a huge binge. Moderation. Of course, if you live off vending machines, you're going to have a problem. But if every once an a while you want that Snickers bar, or that margarita, go for it. It's not going to hurt you if you keep it in moderation.

Those diet bars and sodas have plenty of drawbacks too. Like added chemicals that can (and have been proven to) cause cancer. You'd probably be better off eating the sugar! And if you're going to talk fruit, fruit has it's own sugars which a lot of people don't realize that they ARE calories. Lots of calories. Plus if you starve yourself, your body will go into starvation mode and start conserving fat stores and make your body tired. The best advise is cook at home, bring it to work. Eat a balanced diet high in fiber, low in fat, and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Otherwise, it's okay to cave and have a donut here and there. It's about moderation.

Isn't the ultimate solution one that includes a boss ordering some fruit, or some whole wheat options? I agree that we all need to be responsible for our own health. But really...who needs fat donuts and bagels in the morning? The boss thinks s/he is doing everyone a favor, when all it does is create an office full of people looking for a nap!!!

You ever eat an entire box of granola bars??? out of boredom??? I JUST DID!
Sometimes stocking the right snacks is only half the battle...sometimes you have to portion also...
And about the alcohol...YEAH RIGHT!

Anyone have any ideas for those of us that are lactose intollerant? All of these ideas are GREAT! But, if I eat them, I will not work and wind up in the hospital.

Your forgot to mention that at some office gatherings or meetings someone is always bringing donuts or donut holes. I am always having to decline this offering and even justify why I don't want a donut. It's no wonder why people tend to gain weight especially during the holidays where everyone is bringing high calorie foods in work places.

Great snacks except that MSG is in some of them and high fructose corn syrup (a filler) is in the rest except for
Western Bagel Alternative Bagel and VitaMuffins. This filler is extremely fattening and also very bad for you! It's cheap so they add it to just about everything! Be careful what you buy and READ YOUR LABELS!
=-)

Have any of you heard of the new product on the market...you take a capsule with 6oz of water about 45 min. before you eat. It expands in your tummy making you feel full with less food intake. Works like a gastric bypass w/o surgery. No drugs, no stimulants nothing. It is even safe for those with diabetes because it does not react with the body at all. I am having great results with it!!
