Low carb diets aren't just for fad diets--diabetics require low GI foods and women with PCOS need to live ultra low-carb. Articles like this allow those of us who MUST live this way to make our own choices about what to eat.
Another product I've found useful is Joseph's lavash wraps and pita rounds--both low cal & low carb, multi-grain and delicious replacements for any kind of wrap and pizza. I've even drizzled a toasted pita with agave nectar and cinnamon for breakfast toast--yummy! (And no H.F.C.S.)

I have found a pita bread and flat bread by a company called josephs that is really good. It is healthy and low carb.
I find that people shouldn't critisize other people's diet choice because what works for one person might not work for another. I tried many different diets over the years until I found success with low carb. I have lost over 100 pounds. I have friends that do it because they are diabetic or insulin resistant so don't judge if you don't know they circimstances to why someone is doing it.

Sheesh, Yahoo must have gotten paid premo to shill this crap. All of these breads and pastas are loaded with sodium and other additives.
Hope none of the readers herein actually believe yahoo cares about their health or healthy eating... its all about the advertiser dollars...

Dreamfields Pasta is the best low net carb pasta out there. % net carbs per serving. It is better than regular pasta. I make a lot of dishes for guests and the can't tell the difference. www.dreamfields.com Kroger and Amazon carries the product. I am not sure who else......happy Eating.....

If, we Americans ate in moderation and actually got some exercise, we wouldn't have to be so obsessed with diet and carbs. Europeans don't worry about this stuff because they overall live a healthier lifestyle. The don't obsess, they enjoy life.

Thanks for the suggestions for breads and buns, but I am perplexed that for pasta you do not list any of the Dreamfields Foods products. The only pasta products that are real pasta, but low-glycemic and low-effective carbs of 5 grams versus approximately 40 grams per serving for other pastas. Check it out for yourself: http://www.dreamfieldsfoods.com/

posted by eve-Instead of emphasizing the "low carb" diet, why not encourage people to eat healthy carbs than have minimal impact on their blood sugar. There are many out there and there always have been. Try eating whole grain pasta, quinoa, brown rice
This is ideal goal, but you have people like my husband, who is like dealing with a 6 year old in the food department. Hates brown rice, whole wheat bread to him is like card board and will not try these other grains he was not raised on. He is diabetic type II and it is my job to feed him. Soooo I appreciate anything that can help with taste, add nutrition and fool his taste buds.

I just finished preparing tonight's dinner, Dreamfield's lasagne. 5 usable grams of carbs per serving. Publix still stocks their products. Many other stores discontinued it as a stock item once the "Low-carb Craze" abated.

The Flatout Flatbreads are also really good if your missing bread they have between 90-100 cal 2.5 g fat, 280mg sodium, 17g carbs, 8 g fiber and 9g protein. I like them much better than any of the low fat or carb tortillas that I've found. I usually get them at Safeway.

If you want a really good bread try a local bakery, where you can go in and ask the baker who made your bread what he put in it. I like Great Harvest Bread. They grind their own wheat, and make each loaf by hand everyday. They don't use any preservatives and don't use HFCS. The only ingredients they use are whole wheat flour, water, honey, yeast, and salt. Plus they are locally owned, so you know what you are getting.

This is ok...but if you really like the pasta and bread you have now, dont change that much. You can follow this guide but you dont have to all the time. Have the multi-grain pasta and low carb bread but every once in a while, you can take a break and have regular pasta. Dont sell yourself too short.
