Regarding a low carb diet... the fallacious arguments against them abound as seen above. Eating low carb changes the body's primary fuel source from carbs to stored fat. The alleged health risks are far outweighed by the benefits of weight loss. On another note, Dreamfields pasta line is low carb, tastes fantastic and is available everywhere. peace

every product listed is filled with preservatives and fillers. wonder bread made it to a top low-carb bread. we all know wonder bread isnt even an actual food product, yet a product main from the machines themselves involved in mass production.
worst list i've ever seen. check out Ezekial 4:9 products if you want taste and low carbs...

Eat a regular 1200 calorie diet and include regular carbs in moderation to help you stick to your diet. Otherwise you will find yourself with no energy and wanting to go off your low carb diet because it is tasteless. I've lost 26 pounds since Feb. just doing 1200 cals and don't feel neglected in any dietary area. Enjoy your regular foods with portion control!

Just so you know, some of those breads listed, though they appear healthy, they have high fructose cornsyrup in the ingredients, one of the worst things for healthy living.

Hungry Girl, you are a huge help in so many food ways. I just lost 21 pounds on Weight Watchers and am now looking for new things to eat to lose a little more and maintain the lifestyle. I was disheartened to see how many people on here want to pick at your suggestions -- it takes a lot of energy and time to do what you do, and we all benefit. Complainers, if you dont' like it, turn off the computer, go out and get some exercise -- or spend that time creating new recipes and hunting down new foods to tell us about. Thanks again!

This is not true and very common among people who are "anti" low carb. I lost 140 in 1 year doing atkins. So its not just "water weight" loss. Ive kept 100 off for almost 7 years now doing a modified version of the low carb diet.

Those Shirataki noodles are made in Japan, I imagine they sell them to Canada. I love house foods. I live in Japan. If you visit try all types of foods(tonkatsu(breaded fried porc), soba, ramen, sushi, it tastes so much better than in the U.S.

I ordered a case of those wraps and couldn't find anyway to fix them that made them taste good. We opened one pack, and threw the rest in the trash. Everything else mentioned here is great, but beware of the tortillas!!

Joy of joys everything that is "healthy" is more expensive. So those of us who are just trying to eat right, are hurting from the big corporations making crap for us to eat, because we cant afford the good stuff.

I use canned beans or frozen spinach instead of pasta. Obviously, one would cook the spinach before serving it with the pasta sauce. And canned beans just have to be heated up, along with the sauce and cooked meat. Much faster, more fiber, fewer carbs. You feel full longer AND you get more nutrients, especially if you use both spinach and beans.

To "U can ask me to find that out" Some of us are diabetics and carbs DO mean a lot! I'm always looking for low carb foods - not just to lose weight but to watch my sugar intake. If I lose weight in the process, that's just so much better.
The key is eat in moderation and exercise...people want to try anything they can do get out of a 30 minute jog a day or hit some nautalis machines or free weights at the gym..

Aunt Millie's sells whole grain breads without added high fructose corn syrup, a few others are starting to as well now. Ronzini pasta is pretty good with added fiber :)

All good ideas..=) I am the gal who looves pasta.. just go for whole wheat pasta (in moderation) or Barilla multigrain pasta with omega 3.. The carb count is lower than that of regular pasta yet with a higher fiber and protein count.. still tasty!..

Very yummy bread info...but, and this has already been mentioned I believe..be sure the bread does not have HFCS! This high fructose corn syrup is THE culprit that will put the fat around your middle, and that's what we want to avoid.

Aunt Millie's has a light Potatoe Bread which is very low in carbs and is reallllllllllllllllllllly great. And for the low carb basher out there. Low carb has been around since the 1800's and popular here since the 70's. If you could read then you would know low carb is the closest to the way man ate originally and the concept that our bodies have not evolutionized as quick as our diet is very credible. Stop the hate go eat a steak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all the recent buzz, I was quite disappointed with the Shiritaki noodles. They ARE NOTHING like pasta, and are a very poor substitute. In soup , they are probably okay, because the texture out of the bag is quite gummy. Just a note to those expecting miracles from this noodle....don't.
