If you like the McD's Iced Coffees, take the refrigerated coffee suggestions from above, and add a little more of your favorite creamer than you normally use in your hot coffee. McD's Vanilla iced coffee and my version of adding Coffee Mate's No Sugar Vanilla taste the same to me. Saves a little jing, and is awesomely refreshing after a workout!

I think it's important to have a liitle something for yourself everyday especially if your a busy person. Java Shack in Pismo Beach has freshly roasted coffee and is one of my favorite daily stops. I can't go without it. Some places are worth every penny!

I like the idea of mixing cinnamon with the coffee before brewing. It's such an easy way to make the coffee more special without spending much more time on it.

French press makes good coffee, but the Aero press makes it so much better! check out www.aerobie.com The press is completely unbreakable and super easy to clean. if you use super fresh beans, it makes the best home pressed coffee ever!

I worked as a Barista from the time I was 15-20, and I have to say I can make a mean latte, mocha, cappacino, machiato, you name it. BUT. Now that I work an office job, and I dont get the descount ( lol) it seems rediculous, when the economy is this bad, to spend 5.30 on a espresso drink! My husband bought a french press, and a Mr. Coffee espresso machins. I was sceptical, thinking there was no way it could compete with the 2,000 machine I had been working on. But it is amazing! And to agree with all you other fols, French Pressed coffee is the BEST coffee youll ever drink. :-)

My dad just bought my mother a French press and the coffee tastes sooooooooo much better than from a regular Bun coffee pot. The flavors are more fresh because the french press is easy to clean and there are never any "crustys" on the glass.

I buy the Tazo passion tea at Target and either buy the Just Lemonaide in the cooler section of the grocery store.....or buy the little dry packets of just lemons and add some splenda to taste.......with lots of ice. Mmmmmm Refreshing....

Be careful putting spices in the grounds of an automatic. It doesn't allow the coffee to seep through and overflows. For cinnamon, you're better off sticking a cinnamon stick in the grounds. For Nutmeg, a whole nutmeg.

WOW, no comment on the best coffee out there.... Green Mountain Coffee! I can't go a day without and Ive been talked into getting the french press back out! To the Booper! Live on the enge and get that new French Press and buy a (drinking) glass washer, available at the hardware store or WalMart. It is a sponge on a stick and your will be much less likely to break it.

This type of thinking is what causes the economy to be in trouble. When people stop spending, it puts everyone's jobs at risk. This can cause your local coffee shop to go out of business resulting in the loss of jobs, tax revenue, etc. Support business!

French Press - The ONLY way to go when making Coffee at home.
If you are craving that foam - Just put some of your milk in a cup and take your stick blender to it for a minute.
VOILA ... the best foam you'll ever have.

Starbucks doesn't even taste good unless you add stuff to it; make mine Maxwell House! In Florida we have Gate Stations that brew a fine cup of coffee, flavors too. For the price of an insulated cup with a lid (mine was $2.50 a couple of years ago) you get refills for $.59. They have cream, half & half, and those flavored things as well as brewed hazelnut, etc. Almost cheaper than home-brewed.

Making your own coffee at home to save $ over a daily take-out coffee...this isn't exactly ground breaking, this is common sense...
I'm glad I have a professional espresso maker that I got from my dad - If you broke down the cost by # of Starbucks it could buy, it wouldn't seem like such a penny pincher.

For those of you with regular coffee pots. I suggest a BUNN, makes the whole pot in 3 minutes, just long enough to get a cup and cream and sugar out. I agree that the french press is fabulous, but for day to day, get a BUNN, a great investment!!!!

I would like to recommend tou you all that for home, yes, the French Press s definitely the way to go. But may I also suggest that you search for an independent coffee house in your area. Though these shops can certainly see their share of volume, bevvies aren't churned out in mass production, i.e. the Big Guys. The majority of baristi at home-grown locals tend to care a little more for what they're serving, so the price is worth it for the fantastic love they put into their work.

yeah i've broken a bunch of french presses too...i just use a cone and very finely ground coffee to make one big strong cup and save myself the $3 down the street

Not liking the taste of french pressed or burnt coffee, I like my cup of joe freshly brewed each time by using Phillips' Senseo and Presto MyPod which I fill with freshly ground Starbucks' espresso roasted coffee beans. You can double up on the caffeine by using enough coffee for 2-cups but only make one cup instead. I then use flavored creamer giving me that specialty coffee house taste without the big bucks all under two minutes. On top of that, there is no coffee to waste, since you make exactly what you need or want.
