I know someone who is Mexican and I don't see any comment of anyone who knows what Cinco de Mayo is. It means The fifth of May and it was their independence from the French. If you don't know that you probably shouldn't be celebrating it.

If all you Mexicans don't want us to celebrate your stupid holiday then go back to Mexico we don't want you here anyways. Stop waving your stupid flag in our country and demanding rights you don't deserve. Get a life a job and stop selling drugs and breeding like the dogs you are

I'm Mexican but I think there's nothing wrong in celerating a special day for Mexico, after all we should be good neighboors. I do like the USA a lot and I have a lot of American friends. For all those who say "let's not celebrate a Mexican holiday" let me tell you in Mexico we have adopted some US holidays, like Halloween, Christmas with Santa Claus, etc. since several decades ago, and we do love it. There's nothing wrong with embracing our neighboor's celebrations.

This is about as lame and asinine as you could possibly get. Go here for a brief history lesson http://www.vivacincodemayo.org/history.htm Forgo piñatas and sombreros?? Guacamole with sundried mangos and sundried tomatoes?? Man, someone needs to get out a little more often! (eghem *Rita and Elycia*) find yourself some REAL Mexican men to take you to their pachangas and have their madrecitas cook you some real mexican food! Mole, Enchiladas, Nopalitos, Chilaquiles, tacos al pastor…with real guacamole not some watered down, stripped and void of culture version. And of course, wash it down with some agua de orchata, de tamarindo and/or de jamaica and sure, why not, unas Coronas, Modelos, o un tequilita.
Your music couldn’t be any more lamer. Sure I love all those musicians, but pleeeeease! Salsa is NOT Mexican. Gipsy Kings are from France (of Spanish parents), BVSC from Cuba and Cesaria Evora from Brazil! (sheesh!) Put on some Cadetes de Linares, Carlos y Jose, Tigres del Norte…and, man, you can’t ever do without Chente! (Vicente Fernandes para los ignorantes).
Bueno, me despido pero les dejo este mensaje: Join your brothers and neighbors and celebrate their cultures, but PLEEASE, don’t strip them down to watered down version like the one peddled on this article. (shame on you Rita and Elycia and shame on you who believed this crap-do your own research!)

Being Hispanic I was little disappionted. Like someone stated it is not Mexican Independence Day but it gives us Mexicans here in U.S. another reason to celebrate. You must have guacamole on this list and maybe some potatoe tacos, dont forget the tequila. and lastly what mexican music list is complete without Vincente Fernandez!
