Hey girls, if you're looking for a reason to indulge in an evening of munchies, juicy guy stories, and secret beauty tips, we've got just the thing. Parties are the perfect way to combine your passion for beauty and fashion with your love of all things fun and festive, so invite your friends over for a girls-only soiree with a style or spa spin! Go ahead, kick the guys out -- and prepare for some serious pampering. You deserve it!
Go Fashionista
Fashion parties are always a treat. Start with homemade invitations. Cut art paper into clothing shapes (dresses, shirts, shoes). Decorate one side with scraps of colorful paper, fabrics, buttons, and trims. On the other, write up the party particulars.
Ask everyone to bring items of clothing (in good shape) that they no longer need or want. No ripped old flannel shirts, please! But those size-30 J-Brand jeans that no longer fit (thanks to your personal trainer) may be the perfect size for one of your buds. Be sure to have people bring accessories too, such as handbags and jewelry.
And since shopping always leaves a girl hungry, serve up lite goodies like fruit salad in paper cones; tea sandwiches with unique flavors like havarti cheese, honey mustard, and arugula; and tiny cupcakes with extra little "fashion" touches. Offer Champagne and sparkling cider to quench thirsts. You'll see -- it's the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, and much easier on everyone's wallet than a trip to the mall!
Get Pampered!
Spa parties are another fab reason to gather The Girls -- trust us, no one will pass up an invitation for facials and a healthy dose of female bonding.
Mail invitations with small pouches of fragrant bath salts. Tell each guest to bring a robe and slippers and greet them with spring water garnished with lemon and cucumber slices. Set up stations around your home for facials and mani/pedis. Pair women up to give each other treatments. If you want to go all out, hire a masseuse to do 10-minute backrubs or foot massages. Or hire a yoga instructor to lead a session for the group. Serve up healthy munchies -- roasted almonds for snacking, fresh veggie salad with light lemon and olive oil dressing, whole wheat pita bread and hummus, and fruit smoothies. This is one party that won't leave anyone with a hangover the next day!
