Why sit at home alone downing a quart of double-fudge ice cream when you can invite a bunch of friends over to indulge with you? It doesn't get any more decadent than a Chocolate Party! That's right, an entire get-together inspired by our favorite treat.
- Create your own irresistible invitations using dark brown paper. Handwrite all the tasty details using silver pen, then glue on a Hershey's Kiss for the final touch. It's best to mail them in small padded envelopes and well worth the extra effort.
- Treat guests to a chocolate lovers' dream. Put out bowls of exotic candies and dark chocolate-covered raisins. Create a chocolate bar, filled with brownies and ice cream (in different flavors from fudge to mocha), along with a variety of toppings like whipped cream, fruit, and nuts. Or, for something a bit more extravagant, serve up chocolate fondue with pound cake, banana, and strawberries for dipping.
- Accompany the smorgasbord of sugary sweets with a nice, dry champagne. And offer hot chocolate and coffee that can be topped off with optional shots of Godiva Liqueur (for those who haven't already OD'd on chocolate!).
- Send guests home with a goodie bag of yummies. Fill small takeout containers with chocolate candies and enclose a small card saying: "Life is like a box of chocolates -- you never know what you're going to get. So enjoy today and start your diet tomorrow!"
- Surf the web for gourmet chocolates and custom candies to add an extra dimension to your bash.
A chocolate party is guaranteed to leave your guests buzzing -- because, as Lucy once said in a "Peanuts" comic: "All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"
