Oh, now see you forgot one of the best party-killer songs EVER: "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" Guaranteed to send everyone home -- it's what my roommate & I used in college to send everyone home.

Being a music geek myself and not all too social when I go to a party I pay attention to the tunes more then the conversation some people need this; list but nix Bobby McFerrin really? and what kind of genius plays "The End" at a party? why throw out a jewel along with throwing in the obviously out of place? I don't get it. do yourselves a favor and get "Roman Gods" by The Fleshtones or "The Modern Lovers" by The Modern Lovers; although their songs mainly deal with breakups and being lonely, they have a great beat and provides good background noise.

    1) Anything by the Grateful Dead -- and I'm a Deadhead. Sorry aging & wannabe hippies, let's keep Jerry to ourselves. 2) Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" ought to be outlawed for any public broadcast. I will cry for your son in private, not at the local bar.

Hey most of your buzz kill songs I agree with, but I think the Macarena and Fergalicous can still be fun, at least for another year or two.

Are you kidding me? Some of these songs are perfect for parties. The kind of songs where they aren't supposed to be playing are more uptight. A party is supposed to consist of music and dancing with some appetizers going around if you want to keep them there for a while because people get hungry. Things like I Kissed A Girl are perfect for that because it has a great beat and you can dance to it.

If anyone ever came close to playing any of these songs at a party, the party without these songs probably ended up sucking anyway. These are no-brainer songs! :)

Come on, seriously, you're putting somewhat new pop songs on this list rather than "Love Shack." "I kissed a Girl" is a short uppity song that may at least make the party a bit more interesting. "Love Shack" makes me want to crucify myself.
