Ed Levine: The Missionary of the Delicious
Writer and radio and television personality Ed Levine founded Serious Eats, homebase on the internet for information, entertainment and conversation about the foods you love, in January of 2006. Ed's stories for the New York Times on quintessential populist foods like ice cream, pizza, and bagels, end up on refrigerator doors and bulletin boards all over America. Writing about Levine's second book, New York Eats (More), Gourmet magazine Editor in Chief Ruth Reichl dubbed Ed "The Missionary of the Delicious." He is also the author of Pizza: A Slice of Heaven, New York Eats, and the forthcoming cookbook The Young Man and the Sea, with Esca chef Dave Pasternack, the 2004 recipient of the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef New York City award. On television Ed hosted (with Vogue food critic Jeffrey Steingarten), created and co-produced NEW YORK EATS for the Metro Channel. Levine has covered the food scene for Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Details, GQ, and Business Week.
