3 sticks of butter! That's ridiculous. I make delicious brownies with "only" 1 stick. Excessive enough....

Aww, c'mon! Who needs all that work?! Take a package of Duncan Hines fudge brownie mix, break up an entire package of Double Stuff Oreos and fold them into the batter before baking (I ALWAYS line with parchment paper to keep baked goods from sticking!) and I guarantee you'll love 'em. Don't even ASK about the calories.

3 cups of walnuts for 15 brownies?!? There goes the "chewy and fudgey" aspect. No thanks.

It's a brownie for goodness sake... it's supposed to be yummy and fattening. I agree with KeyKey0825... a little indulgence is a good thing. Otherwise, what's the point? Plus, you can always make up for it by working out an extra 15 minutes... or you can always choose to eat a granola bar instead and watch someone else eat the brownies. At least someone in the room will be happy.

Sure seems to be an excessive amount on all the ingredients for only 15 brownies! My family likes when I put 1 cup of chopped pecans and 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips in the brownie mix (9 x 13 pan size). They also are very tasty with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a warm brownie. Mmmm......

3 sticks is a lot of butter, but it's also a huge batch of brownies. Just run for an extra fifteen minutes when you go to the gym. Also, you can just try adding a bit of butter then testing the batter...or use some butter and some canola oil. There's always room for modifications.

They are freakin brownies people!!! They are not supposed to be healthy. You aren't supposed to eat the whole batch anyway. I'm sure they are delicious!

I believe that yeah..there brownies and you should enjoy them. But all those ingredients are a bit excessive for only 15. Make it so that they are just as good but a little less abusive of these fatty and sweet substances. A little can go a long way when it comes to sweet treats. Everyone loves chocolate, but feeling sick afterwards is not my kind of brownie.

I just looked at a ruler and these brownies are really big. 3"x4". That is huge! No wonder the ingredients seem excessive.

    1. it's 15 3 x 4 inch brownies 2. they are made in a 11 x 17 inch jelly roll pan 3. they are brownies, not health food if you want to eat healthy then eat homemade granola and fresh fruits and veggies......no one asked you to comment on how UNHEALTHY and utterly decadent these brownies will be. if you didn't already know that brownies are unhealthy and full of fat, calories, sugar, and processed junk then you are an idiot.

You guys need to lay off- brownies are not supposed to be a health food! Once in a great while, can't people just stop counting the calories, the fat, the trans fat, the carbs, the sugar, etc. and just enjoy themselves? Have one brownie. Indulge. Just don't go overboard. This was not presented as a low fat brownie receipe or a good for you receipe. Go critique the ones that are supposed to be healthy and really aren't if that is what you are looking for. If you are trying to eat healthy and count every little carb and fat you consume, then why would you even bother reading a brownie receipe? But I do agree that 3 cups of walnuts might make them a little too nutty for many people's tastes. It is nice to see a receipe for brownies from wholesome ingredients and made from scratch instead of hyper processed box brownies.

Well said #17. They're brownies. I would like to hear from someone that actually made the brownies as directed. They sound yummy. I'll take fresh made over packaged mixes any day. You know what you're putting these, not always the case with the mixes.

I agree with those who LOVE brownies and IF you want health-food treats, chew on a carrot. I'll definitely try these and throw caution to the wind. And, I don't believe these homemade brownies are worse for you than ready-made cookies, cakes, etc., that are filled with preservatives. After all, all ingredients in this recipe are natural, so thus, eaten in moderation, healthy. So there!
