Haagen-Dazs/ Ben and Jerrys should taste better and do.. They are the premium brands i.e. less air contant. Any vanilla bean flavor should taste better than any other vanilla flavor.Blue Bell is quiet good, not as good as the top 2, I would place them 3rd. I'm a chocolate nut, and for me on that flavor. Ben/Jerrys Chocolate Fudge Brownie is just decadent.

just so you know the Haagen-Dazs company was started and initially run by a Mr. Hagen (HAY-gen). They made up the name Haagen-Dazs to sound more exotic and European to sell more ice cream. (Only reason I know is his house was part of a Frank Lloyd Wright tour I went on, in and around Falling Water)

I need ice milk - not ice cream. Ice cream tastes to rich; in fact "greassy" Ice milk is a delight and way better foir the heart.

For people lucky enough to live in the areas covered by Blue Bell, the state ice cream of Texas, there is no contest. Blue Bell is the best, because the cows think Brenham is Heaven.

Just give me Bluebell Homemade Vanilla. That is the best there is. Originally made at the little creamery in Brennen, Texas. Nothing tastes better.

WOW!!! Blue Bell was totally omitted!! It's the best stuff I've ever tasted, and I'm shocked it didn't make the list. I do agree on the top two over the other pretenders.

If BLUEBELL had been included, it would have won the test. HÄAGEN-DAZS is ok, but if you love Rocky Road, then you know that only BLUEBELL makes one that tastes the way it should.

I'm both an ice cream fanatic and connisseur. Turkey Hill ice cream and frozen yogurt are my supermarket favorites. Their flavors are crisp, clean, and clear--yum, yum!!! Haagen Daz is a close second. I mostly eat light ice cream and frozen yogurt, and both companies excel at these frozen treats.

Hands down... BLUE BELL! The other brands are a distance second. If you can't get Blue Bell where you are (I think they're only in the southern states) then order it or a make a trip south. Go ahead and indulge... you'll get hooked from the first spoonful.

No one beats Stauss's Vanilla Ice Cream. No one, bar none. It's made at a small family run dairy north of San Francisco, using milk from 'electric' cows.

Hands down, the best Ice Cream in the US is Blue Bell Ice Cream (http://www.bluebell.com) They are committed to great fresh taste and only distribute in certain parts of the US, HOWEVER here's a secret -- if you go to Outback Steakhouse anywhere in the US, you can order Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream for desert. I live in California and miss it! In have I have actually shipped it in from Texas for special events.
