I think Pop Rocks came out in the 70's. I first had them in about '76 or '77 when in jr. high.

We have an Orange Julius at the mall near where I live. I am a 90's kid, and I remember all the cool kids drinking capri sun, and eating gushers and fruit roll-ups. I can still get Tab at the grocery store here too. And I remember those raisins. They were great. Interesting list.

Wait a minute. Tab was from the 60's, doofus! Ditto for Orange Julius. Jawbreakers? They've been around since Moses was a kid! You SO didn't do your research. But in the 80's, there was a very weird Pepsi offering called Pepsi Light - lemon-flavored, 60 calories per can. What about Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers? Croissants? Flavored coffees? Mozzie sticks? Dude, I don't know where you spent the 80's, but it wasn't in this country.

None of these were particular to the 80's. Tab was around and quite popular when I was growing up in the 60's the soft drink of the 80's was the "New Coke" which failed and was "replaced" by Coke Classic. Tri color pasta salads were 90's, Sweet-N-Low was the sugar substitute of the 80's, chicken McNuggets made their debut, Pop rocks were around in the 60's and 70's but every generation seems to think it was particular to them Fire-balls or hot-balls were a penny candy going back to the depression. Mountain Dew was the drink of the 80's, but hey...we needed something sweet to wash down the dry cardboard McNuggets, which by the way were first served in styrofoam boxes before we new that the plastic was toxic...and didn't biodegrade in the landfill. Suave made it's debut as the poor man's "pH balanced" shampoo, but only the original strwberry was "pH balanced". Mouse and "big bnags were the girl hair styles and guys had long but wispy layers and "gothic" dressing started, remeber "the breakfast club movie? It was the end of disco and the beginning of heavy metal.

Orange Julius's are great.....more popular in the 70's, making a comeback now at Dairy Queen. Tab was popular in the 60's and 70's. All the rest of that stuff should have stayed in the 80's!!!

LOL at the last poster! I agree with you. I grew up in the 80's and fondly remember these foods. Never really ate many lean cuisines since I was a kid back then. I absolutely LOVED orange julius and wish I could have one really soon, or wish that there was a location close to me. Oh, and cool ranch doritos...yum!!
