That question, cobra5280, might have been better off being posted in the Food & Drink section of Yahoo!Answers.

lighten up Erich H! they're just recipes. there's no sadistic underliying message here. just because a recipe suggests using a particular brand name product doesn't mean that a lot of us will buy store brand or generic.

Too much mayo for my taste, live a little and try other bases for dips like chick peas or olive oil.

Hey all, I don't wish to nit-pik. Most of those who have ever had Mac&Cheese from a box were Kraft" virgins from way back!...no dead bodies, no deformities to second or third generations I know of (tee hee!) Well, on to dips & dipsticks...they ALL sound pretty darn good, some I've had, some not...yet. HOWEVER, they left out Hummus; homemade & done up right is soooo good!!! Also, as a practical consumer I can't remember the last time I bought national 'Name Brand' stuff (with a few exceptions of course). Have you seen the prices on those bad boys? My local Kroger store has a sliced cheese "FOOD" not product or by-product I should say that beats all. It's called 3 Cheese Blend: colby, cheddar & Monterey Jack. Indivdually wrapped, it is so less expensive esp. on sale! Sorry Kraft & Borden's, but it kicks your curd all the way & back! Well, that's it for me. Keep the Love 'THANG' going! God Bless Us All.

I have to say the best dip is a kind of bread dip I got down in Charleston, South Carolina. I had to of ate 10 of the little bread cubes dipped in that dip. The place was called South Carolina Spice Company, I believe. I still have it, trying not to get rid of it. If you go down there, go right toward the free bites. They might still have it. Italian bread will do best with this dip, and for it to taste like the free cubes, add sea salt (Or regular salt, if you want) to make it taste amazing. And also: you HAVE to add olive oil (siince it's just herbs, and stuff)!!! I prefer EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) with the blend, because it adds flavor (although the blend already has flavor). Also, if you're in the mood for ribs, steak, ETC. Go to Sticky Fingers. The bes rib & steak joint in the world. You can find the steak (ribs, if you prefer) sauce at stores but the unique rub & carolina classic sauce is at Sticky Fingers, but if you don't feel like traveling it's at stickyfingers.com. Yum. Yum. Yum!
