I don't understand how anyone could get tired of eating the 'same old' when you really only have this selection of foods at this one meal! Mum always makes her own secret recipe yams, a big ol' ham for everyone but me, and I manged to get my hands on a bitty sized little turkey this year! We get corn, cranberries, green beans... sheesh, so much food half the time I don't remember it all!
No matter what you guys decide to eat this holiday, be safe and love one another! Happy Thanksgiving!

Would be great to see more vegan recipes on this site... there are many healthy, tasty and good vegan dishes for everyone. With different kinds of beans, lentils, mushrooms, tofu, whole grain pasta, brown rice, quinoa, and of course all kinds of vegetables and fruit. Using coldpressed vegetable oils instead of animal fat, and rice/soy/almond milks instead of cows milk.

All of it sounds wonderful, and I am a vegetarian, not vegan, I get excited just the thought of making and doing all of the prep, for Thanksgiving, which I taught my daughter. I have to have surgery this year & will be not able to do mine. My daughters will have the dinner at my younger ones house, with my daughter and grandaughters coming in from Vegas, but It will be fantastic as it always is. I will be so Thankful for just being with my family.

Tofurkey is quite possibly one of the nastiest things ever dreamed up by the vegetarian mind. We served it one year out of curiosity. The damn thing was rather expensive, and we knew we were in trouble when it made the entire kitchen smell like dirty feet. We ended up eating the deli roast beef along with our homemade side dishes. The dogs liked the tofurkey, though.
