I've been making this recipe for years. I double it to make 24 and sell them at bake sales. People at my church now get MAD at me if I don't make THE cookies for the bake sale table. They really are the best. ever.

*yawn* I think my recipe is better. Less flour, less butter, less brown sugar, DESIRED AMOUNT OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS. And it's perfect. Same recipe just 2/3 cup shortening instead of butter, 1 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar. It's much better.

Why don't Chocolate Chip cookies taste like they used to? No matter what you do, they don't taste the same as years ago.

Just use the Toll House recipe, they are always good. I also substitute shortening instead of butter and everyone loves my cookies. I don't like how flat butter makes the cookies, shortening makes them a little plumper and softer.

My friends rave over my chocolate chip cookie recipe, and it's so easy! Make the Tollhouse Cookie recipe on the package, but add one cup of dried cranberries...you'll absolutely die when you taste them. And DON'T OVERBAKE!

Found and modified a recipe to create the perfect chocolate chip cookie! Went to a superbowl party... with different desserts... only thing that was eaten was my cookies.... people left with them stuffed in their coats and pockets! *It's not a cookie if it has fruit in it!!!!

For a good thin but chewy chocolate chip cookie, try Alton Brown's recipe for "The Thin".

Just use the Toll House recipe on the Nestle bag. A friend adds almond paste to her cookie dough. THAT is the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Almond paste - try it.

Yeah the sex thing kind of threw me for a loop too. Ha! People get a clue. Shortening is hydrogenated and an unnatural substance to the body. Stop ingesting it!

I have always had a question - when a recipe calls for shortening - is it the Crisco, solid,in a can - white stuff - that is to be used? have always used butter so thoughts and input would be appreciated!

What sex, where? Shortening, it's Crisco in a can, heart attack waiting to happen. That film on the roof of your mouth. Another name, trans fat. And no, the cookies don't tast the same as they use to.

If you want an awesome chocolate chip cookie go to the foodtv network and under Alton Brown look for "THE THIN" It's the best ever...the only thing I found wrong is, it says to use a # 20 scoop ... It makes big flat cookies but i can't seem to find a #20 and a #8 was to big so I think that was a printing error... I also use the whole bag of chocolate chips and added walnuts...they are the best I've ever had.

I want your cookies. Meet me under the footbridge at midnight and bring the cookies. If you don't you'll be kidnapped and sold to a wealthy perverted aristocrat in a "developing" nation.
