I saw a casual picnic with picnic table. They brought chicken, grapes, loaf of french bread, fresh fruit and a old candelabra you could get cheap at a sale. They had a table cloth and lit the candles. IT WAS AN EARLY EVENING PICNIC. a little imagination can make it fun and doesn't have to be formal, just a few candles of any type. I walked over to them, smiling, and wiped all the food off their picnic table. the man was a wimp and just stood there shouting at me but didnt touch me. his face was beat red and i could tell he was embarassed to lool so weak and impotent in front of his whole family. I just stood there laughing heartily and walked away while he was still trying to think of insults to bark at me. god that was so funny.

Please do not use the word picnic. It comes from a horrible practice of picking a black person to hang. Check your southern history please!
cool, that makes me want to use it even more!

I took an old backpack and filled it with all the essentials. I picked up some cloth napkins at a thrift shop and rolled up silverware which I keep stored along with the corkscrew, a sharp knife, tablecloth, I also keep matches, handiwipes, bottled water. Then I store it all set to go. It's easy to carry and always ready.

Great advice. I would simply add carrier bags for the refuse. On the food front I've always found tins of tuna and sardines, and an assortment of dry biscuits quite helpful. The music list is a bit too personal, to my ears at least. Thanks all the same.

What I did was took an old backpack and keep it filled with supply's. I picked up some cloth napkins at a Thrift Shop and keep them rolled up with silverware. I keep a vinyl tablecloth, corkscrew, sharp knife, matches. The idea of the candles was good. I also keep a flashlight. Also, the salt and pepper shakers. It's easy to carry and the different pockets keep things organized. Mine's always packed and ready to go.

Theses are okay words of advice for a picnic, there were some things that I didn't know to do.
P.S. What's SO wrong with saying "picnic"?? I know something or other that happened looonng time ago to people that makes people now angry just for saying picnic. Whatever that was, it was in the past, and all that counts is the future, whatever happend then whats done is done, and it can't change.

Great ideas! One thing I like to bring are "freezies"......frozen popsicles in the plastic tube. They stay frozen for a long time if put in a cooler........

For those of you that believe the word "picnic" is a racial slur please keep in mind that you can't always believe everything you read on the internet. Taking a few minutes to research what you read/hear can do wonders.
Even a year later I find this to be a very helpful article. Thanks!
