Beauty Treatment Musts

Running the front of the house at a hot Manhattan restaurant can be glamorous--full of celebrity sightings, great food and designer clothes--but because any good restaurateur divides her time between the door, the floor and the kitchen, I’m constantly coming in contact with just about everything and everyone in the restaurant.

Additionally, I have many regulars at davidburke & donatella, which inevitably leads to obligatory hugs and kisses. So by the time I leave, I’m also wearing the perfume of about fifty little old ladies. Add in the stress of opening two new restaurants and six-inch heels, and you have a woman in dire need of a spa treatment.

Since a seaweed wrap in the kitchen of davidburke & donatella isn’t an option that the Health Department (or David Burke) would like, I forced myself to take a day off to go to the spa.

My two-hour facial was heavenly. Every woman should have one at least once in her life. And I had a pretty great massage, too--though I’m still searching for the perfect masseuse, one who will really work my calves. Mostly I get some calf work and a lecture about running around in heels every night. But heels are a necessity--not only do the fashion police at davidburke & donatella expect them, but they make me feel great--whether I lose or gain five pounds, my heels always fit.

A facial, a massage and a seaweed wrap later, I went back to davidburke & donatella relaxed, refreshed, and ready for another round of constant contact.

You are pretty jet set for a chef.

Aww, I didn't expect to see comments of jealousy though I am not sure why. It seems fairly fashionable to drop negativity on people expressing themselves in the comments sections right? I guess because I was just admiring Donatella and was interested in paying a compliment. Hey, you go girl you are beautiful and vibrant and it was a pleasure seeing you on the Food Network recently. Ignore all those intoxicated from sippin' the hater-ade.
