Personality type #6 scrounger/college student My grill - 24" terracotta flowerpot, 6" sand in the bottom (hole sealed) and an 18" grill grate from home depot- total cost 18$ My smoker (hot OR cold) a recycled gas hot water heater tank (stripped and holes plugged, and door/hatch cut in the side) with an 8$ hot plate, an 18" grill grate (to hold the food) and a digital thermometer (15$, but has other uses besides monitoring meat) total cost- 52$ (counting cost of custom cuts on the solid iron tank) Fuel for both- hardwood, bought in bulk from a local woodyard the best piece of equipment I ever invested in for BBQ, grilling AND smoking (and I'm a texas boy, so there's hard competition there) is my mind...knowing how the flavors mix, how the meat'll turn out at what temperature. Second best- a good thermometer. anyone can grill, fewer can bbq, even less have the spine to smoke, and half of the above learn how to do it properly. That being said, I'm going to start smoking my 12 pounds of gourmet bacon today- simple shoulder bacon, sea salt and brown sugar cure, done over hickory- 3 days of smoking at 80F, and it's going to drive the neighbors batty, smelling it the whole time.

for the flowerpot, I got it at a grage sale for 8$, and the grill I got for 10$ (end of summer special last year) at home depot. The sand was free, and I can't argue with the results...I put a piece of tinfoil in the bottom before I put the sand in to close off the hole in the pot, and away I went. build your fire slowly, and mind that the pot itself is going to be warm. (I wear welding gloves...lol), but for the price, it's great nothing takes the place of knowing your food to start with though.

The last one is for Brad Pitt The 4th is for Justin Timberlake or maybe Neo of Matrix ( But not for Keanu Reeves .. you didn't show it just one for him ) The 3rd is for Michael Caine the second is for Danny DeVito or maybe for Jack Nicholson too or for the owner of the NBA. And the first is for Andrew McCarthy.. the perfect man..
