The barrel type of grill is the best way if you're Q'ing for a nice crowd(which I love to do)plus if you're from the south, like me, it's perfect for climbing the nearest pecan tree and scavenging some of the best flavoring in the world. plenty of room for that mouth watering smokey flavor. man i'm hungry!!

Designer Show off grills are uber gay. Grow a pair and go classic charcoal grills, smokers, or a great gas grill from Costco for $650.00 and up ! Go buy the BBQ Bible written by Steve Raichlen. It is a very illustrative book and is very informative.- Roberto con queso.

My ex-father in law made a smoker out of an old lay down type freezer. One of those you might have had in your garage to keep meats when you were growing up. HE drilled a hole in the top lid and installed a thermometer so he could keep track of the temperature. In one end he installed some kind of high intensity heating element and put a metal plate above it (small, maybe 4" by 4") so he could put a thick piece of hickory or mesquite on it. He then installed some grill racks and voila.... he could cook several turkeys/hams/brisketts or whatever at one time. They came out very smokey like using wood chunks to cook with. He was very popular on his street at Thanksgiving, everyone wanted him to cook their turkeys. It really was a cool idea.

no matter the grill u use, it's all in knowing what u are doing, the
cut of ribs, and the right temperture of the coals, i would go up
against anyone on taste & tenderness of my barbecue.

In my experiences, most people usually grill for 2 to 12 people. And from many years of experience, a $50 charcoal grill or a $99 gas grill is more than adequate for up to 12 people, and properly taken care of they will last for years! It's not the cost of the grill anyway, its how you cook on it! Save your money ~ unless you have money to burn!

It would be nice if you listed grills an average person could afford. I have a black weber charcoal grill $99 bucks at any home dept type store, and it does a better job than any gas grill, and I still have money for steak.

I have had a Weber Spirit for 10 yrs (the 2 burner Weber) So far I have only had to replace 1 igniter (about $11) and keep it clean. It still cooks and looks like it was new... I even use it in the winter constantly. I needed one of those newer OPD adapters (about $12) so now I can exchange propane tanks the easy way...Not bad, $23 parts + gas for 10 yrs of great BBQing...KEEPER!

YUP--LOVE THE 3 BURNER, 65,000 BTU MONSTER--ACTUALLY IT ALLOWS ME TO VARY TEMPERATURES IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE GRILL FOR SEARING, FLASHING AND SLOW COOKING. AND IT IS GAS--WOULDN'T COOK ANY OTHER WAY. PICKED THIS ONE UP FOR UNDER $200.00 AND IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY IN THE SUMMER AND NOT BAD IN THE WINTER. GRILL ON--BBQ ERS

for me i like all of them...i think every grill has its place... like a charcoal grill is great for camping because most are light and easy to transport, pluse the used coal is not bad for the earth.. gas grills for me are good at home and tailgateing, because it heats up quick and you can cook things at diff temps...wood grills are great because of that wood flavor, like cherry wood, or oak...but some of the best food i have had is when we have put food in tinfoil with all the fixins and put them in the campfire pit at a camp site...at least there u don't need a grill there is already one there...
i do agree with others though that it does have alot to do with the person cooking the food the most...

Gas Grills, there is only one. Wilmington Grill made in Wilminton NC. All stainless steel, even the burners are cast stainless. You can steam with it too. It is my third and last grill. The other ones rusted out in 2 to 4 years. I've had my Wilmington Grill for 5 years and not a single problem. It cost about $1000 but worth every penny. The beat part is that it is made in the USA, giving Americans jobs and it is superior to any grill on the market today
