For the Classic Look
The Weber Kettle is one of the most recognized charcoal grills on the market. So, what's new here? If you want something other than black, blue, or green colors that are widely available at big-box retailers, then look for the exclusive designer gray finish at Crate & Barrel, $299.
For the Master of His Domain
For the barbecue purist, nothing says you're the master of your domain more than when you're manning the grill behind a barrel grill. Go all the way with a side-by-side barrel grill from Chaney's, $575. And don't forget your chef's hat.
Challenger of the Status Quo
If you like challenging conventional wisdom, then kamado-style cookers just might be for you. It's not stainless, it's not shaped like a traditional backyard grill, and doesn't use briquettes or gas but lump charcoal. Based on centuries of ceramic oven cooking traditions, Kamado owners are especially passionate about their grilling results. Custom-made kamados with tile finishes ($399 - $1799) are available online at kamado.com (pictured above), or get the Big Green Egg versions (starting at $499 at Amazon.)

Must Have the Latest Technology
One of the growing trends in gas grilling is infrared heating elements that reach temperatures of up to 1000 degrees to help sear your meats. These are usually found in higher end grills and one of the more reasonably priced grills with an infrared element are made by Napolean Appliances. Take a look at their Prestige 1 RB Series Gas Grill with Cart for under $1,000 at Barbecues.com.
For the designer show-off
Blending stainless steel with Corian surfaces, the Jeppe Utzon is part sculpture and part barbeque. Currently only available through Electrolux in Australia where it was designed, so, you’ve just saved about $7800.
Happy grilling.
