Cupcakes - From Novelty to Artform

The cupcake rage that started a couple years ago has grown from a novelty into its own industry and higher levels of creativity and artistry.  Here's some links to see how far cupcakes have come from kindergarten party snacks.

Check out the Cupcake Blog for great recipes - like Peruvian Caramel filled Lemon Cupcakes with Raspberry Buttercream and Coconut or Pomegranate-Grapefruit Cupcakes, and be sure to check out her step-by-step photo series on how to concoct these delicious desserts.

Bake, stack and carry 24 cupcakes to your next party, and arrive with all the frosting intact. Part of this great cupcake carrier from Crate & Barrel is the non-stick and dishwasher safe bottom tray that doubles as a cupcake baking pan.

Make your cupcakes the centerpiece for your next gathering with this unique cupcake stand. It holds up to 38 cupcakes, fanning them out in a tree-like fashion.

Too much going on to make cupcakes from scratch? Then give these great pre-mixes a whirl. Try the Coconut Cupcake mix or the Chocolate Cupcake with Peanut Butter Frosting, both from the Barefoot Contessa Pantry.

Finally, get inspired by these Flickr photo sets of beautifully decorated cupcakes - A Cupcake Life Pool and Le Cupcake Set.

I'd also recommend the cupcake courier, which holds 3 dozen cupcakes at a time. (If you make a whole box of mix into cupcakes, you usually get this many!) You can find it at cupcakecourier.com

I like to have cupcake parties and set out bowls of different toppings and icings for everyone to make their own. Some times we have a couple of different types of cupcakes - pumpkin is great during the fall and at Easter I like to hide a chocolate egg in the bottom of the cupcake for a surprise.

I know design and this website so doesn't have it! When I first looked at it this Guy's face was there and I don't want to see that! Also it needs a cupcake theme background or some thing! Call a graphic designer! ASAP!
