The Daily Olive presents the first annual Olives. Olives represent the new, upcoming players in the food scene. These are all up and coming winners that every kind of foodie - from novice to expert should be watching for.

The Olives are awarded to:

Best Drink Drama:

The wings will "hook" you, if the flavor and full-leafs haven't already caused you to pledge your devotion. All the great flavor of a tea that has been steeped and brewed properly shines with the convenience of the The Pochette by Treleela.  The Pochette also shows off the full leaf teas and their ingredients. When you look into Treleela Flourish, you can see the green tea leaves and pieces of lemongrass.

Simply entrancing, is Treleela Captivation. As this hibiscus-ginger tea steeps, it actually goes from a light lavender to a beautiful fuschia hue.

Flavor plus functionality - and family-owned estates from the hills of the Himalayas make Treleela a top tea pick, and our choice for best drink drama.

Best Supporting Condiment:

The "Willy Wonka" of pickles comes to life in the amazing culinary trip of a Texas Sassy Pickle Chip. Texas Sassy Pickle Chips take you on a journey of sweet to salty to spicy all in one bite, while keeping the crunchy texture of a dill pickle. All of the Texas Sassy products are really like nothing we've ever had before. If your palate is yearning for adventure, take a trip to the sassy side.

Final Word: Perhaps everything is better in Texas

Best Edit:

Flavor Magic has cut down on the marinade time, mess and calories. The Flavor Magic sheets made by Real Chef give you all of the flavor and none of the fat in nutritionist supported "card deck" sizes for protein. Fabulous on every protein imaginable from tofu to shrimp, this is one magical shortcut you've got to try.

Final Word: A magic trick for everyone.

Best Foreign Import

Leaf, the London Tea boutique has graced the states with their limited edition tea travel kit, designed by the Parisian design house, les Petites Emplettes. Only 25 of the 500 editions are available in the U.S. and you'll only find them online at Hello DELICIOUS.

Final Word: Long Live "The Queen"

Best Producer:

Rufus Teauge. Rufus Teague made some sauce. If it was only that simple in Hollywood.

Final Word: Rufus Teague = Simply Amazing Sauce

Average (17 Ratings): 3 out of 5 stars

Did I miss the point? Was this segment not titled to include olives? I was looking forward to olive recipes! What a missed opportunity! Oh, well, maybe it's me, not you!

RE the $80 travel tea kit. Here's one that has gotta go under the heading of "You've Gotta Be Kidding!" The kit has 12 (yep, that's right: twelve, as in just an even dozen, not even a baker's dozen) servings of tea. Um...let's do the math: That comes to $6.67 per cuppa. Seems to me one could buy a whole bunch of tea for $6.67 and then just brew it with one's own filters. My question is why on Earth would anyone sucker in to such a ridiculous offering. Ah well, there's no accounting for taste but who woulda thought that even a dedicated "foodie" would be able to swallow that kind of codswallop. Eighty bucks for 12 cups of tea, indeed. (Sheesh!)
