7 Serving Platters for Your Holiday Table

Now that holiday parties are getting into full swing, I've got this to say: "Ditch those plastic party trays!" You know, the ones that come with the prepared party foods from your local grocery or warehouse store? Whether you're putting out vegetables, pita wraps, sandwich meats, cookies, or whatever, transfer them to your own serving platters and you'll quickly make your party table a bit more special.

Here are a few holiday-appropriate serving platter selections:

seaglass serving pieces, $59-$89 at Viva Terra

winter forest serving platter, $15 at Target

peppermint stripe platter, $20 at Crate & Barrel

reindeer platter, $59 at Pottery Barn

"lace undone" biscuit plate, $445 at Moss

holiday tree plate, $70 at Rust Designs

season leaf bowl, $70 at notNeutral

Sorry, but local thrift store best bet for something interesting and affordable. How many times a year does a platter get used? Supporting a local charity warms the soul and not just the tummy!

Gotta agree with previous comment - although the idea of using "fancy" dishes is nice, there's no need to spend so much! I've bought beautiful platters for as low as 10$. Besides, if you're having people over, there's always that chance someone will have an accident... Would you really want that accident to bring you down an extra 100$?
