Within the ever-expanding blog world, it seems everyone can write about ... well, everything. But good food photography is another story. It's not easy, and not many people can do it well.
There are three blog sites the Daily Olive knows you'll love, not only for their food knowledge, but also for their photography. Their images are simply breathtaking.

Heidi Swanson is the writer and photographer of this recipe-oriented site. Her purpose for launching the blog was to share her experiences cooking the recipes from the many cookbooks she's collected over the years. And if you're interested in learning how to photograph food yourself, check out Heidi's "Food Photography Tips."

Béa's reason for launching her site is simple: she's obsessed with food. A French expatriate living in Boston (thus the very French blog name), she's a fine photographer to boot. The travel stories in "La Tartine Gormande" reveal a visionary journey; just check out her photos and writing about her recent trip to Monterey, California for proof. When we asked what camera she favors, Béa told us she currently uses a Canon EOS 30D SLR.

Nicky and Oliver, who use Nikon D70s and a D200 with various lenses, produce "Delicious Days." They stress natural light for photography, which seems to be a common theme among the best shooters. Theirs is another site that focuses on food, travel, and everyday cooking, and shares Nicky and Oliver's adventures as well. "Delicious Days" is also informative: it offers a sidebar on food news, which is good for those who want to know what's happening in the restaurant world.
I myself have started shooting food photography recently as well. I'm very new to digital shooting, having used an old manual Canon with black-and-white film for years. But feel free to check out my first test shot at Daily Olive.
