In the summer, it's so easy to eat seasonally -- just turn around at the farmer's market or in the produce department of your grocery store and you'll find great stuff. Appreciating the things that winter brings is a little more challenging, but the easiest thing to enjoy is citrus fruits. Right now you can get perfect pink grapefruits, blood oranges, limes, and lemons.

Because people tend to eat heartier foods in the winter, citrus fruits on their own are a great thing for dessert -- very cleansing. My idea of a perfect winter meal is a bowl of root vegetable soup followed by a grapefruit half. Or try tossing segments with salad, or make a citrus salsa to serve with fruit.

my Lime Dulce de leche is always emptied out even before the main course when we have our Noche Buena so i guess its good. i mix 3 yolks and 1 whole egg and beat it until lemony color, then i add 1/2c of condensed milk, 1/2cup of coconut milk and 1/4c sugar, 1tsp vanilla and the rind of 1 lime and i mix it all together. then i melt sugar on tin ramicans and i let it cool for 2 mins. i pour the egg mixture on the ramicans and i steam it for about 20mins. serve it cool. its great!=]
