you should never give a child under 1 year old honey. it can be very dangerous. their immune systems aren't strong enough yet.

80% to 90% of the worlds honey bee hives disappearing is an exageration, it is closer to 50%, which is still considerable and the reason why Einstein said that people could not survive for more than four years is not because we eat so much honey but because honey bees pollinate so many of the foods we eat and without them the job wont get done as easily.

One mask that i make is Oatmeal, honey, green tea, water and leave it on for however long you like even put it on youtr eyes. It is messy though. It is worth it though. It will make you look younger . Another thing that i do is first rub down your body with organic sugar cane( The brown grity kind) with a wash cloth and a little bit of Jason's Organic body wash even your face and your feet.Wow what this does for your feet you will be amazed. Then i take organic fat free milk with some honey in it and dip the wash cloth it it and go over everything i just cleaned with the sugar if you leave it on your face a little bit longer it works even better. This makes your skin feel so soft and it makes a deep frown line i have between my eyes almost invisible. It really is amazing. Let me know what you guys think after you try it.

Honey is very bad for babies. You should not under any circumstances feed a baby under the age of 2 years honey, 3 years to be safe. it puts the baby at risk for botcholism.

I love honey! It tasted great with cereal, oatmeal, cinamon toast, tea,smoothies...you name it! And it's been used as a beauty regimen for thousands of years.I make a gentle exfoliant with about 4 tablespoons of honey, a pinch or 2 of sugar, it's good. Plus, it's also rumored to be an afrodisiac;)

Having recently experienced a scalding burn on my neck and chest, I found that local honey applied topically to burns appeared to have sped up the healing process and the scarring was minimal. The treating physicians at the emergency room indicated that the burned area would heal in 3 weeks using their method of treatment. With the alternative holistic treatment using honey, I was amazed and thankful that the second degree burns completely healed in 9 days with almost no visible scarring. The honey soothed the burns and was applied after cleansing and covered with bandages daily.

I recently learned there are different "flavors" of honey depending on where the pollen was harvested. Go to a local farmers market and perhaps you can sample several local honeys. Delicious on bisquits, pancakes, in tea, and out of the jar.

It's good to see honey as a healer being promoted, but the reasons quoted in the article are only somewhat factual and very watered down. A wealth o f scientific research exists which indicates honey outpaces coventional therapies in the clinical setting for healing serious, unresponsive wounds. It kills resistant bacteria where antibiotics fail. A leading children's cancer hospital in Bonn Germany uses honey to treat chemotherapy wounds. In fact, it is widely used as a pharmaceutical in other countries. Visit our website at http://www.beehiveskintherapies.com to learn more on our research page and to view our products. Mix 2 tbsp. Honey with 2 tbsp. of oatmeal and smooth on face, rubbing gently. Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. This is a good exfoliating moisturizer. Also, try buying Chinese Honey in an asian supermarket. Very good. Sometimes when honey crystalizes, it can be due to too much heat in your cabinet/pantry, but the honey is still good.

Honey is the only food substance that does not spoil. Like peanut butter and strawberries (among a few other food items), honey should not be given to children under 2 y/o. Children can develop a very serious food allergy if peanuts, peanut based products and strawberries are introduced into their diet below the age of 2.

One more comment: As an organic beekeeper, one of the few that exist in this country, I'd like to clarify the controversy over the loss of bees. It is true, 90% of wild honeybees have vanished. More than 50% of kept bees have been lost as well. Kept bees need wild bees...it's all about genetic diversity. Make no mistake this is huge. One third of what we find on our tables is due to the honeybee exclusively and these are the foods we can not live without. Anything with a seed...look at it that way. Most importantly, they are vanishing because of us....our chemicals, our antibiotics, our environmental practices. It's time everyone outside the beekeeping world helps work to reverse this problem. We can't do it alone. Sally Meadowlake Farm http://www.beehiveskintherapies.com

The following website addy will tell you about their company and what they add, and don't, to their products: https://www.burtsbees.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/AboutOurProductsView?langId=-1&storeId=10101&catalogId=10751 Hope this helps.
