It is incredible that the morons who wrote this article/recipe say "Cut down the calories," but don't provide ANY idea about the calories, fats, cholesteral, etc. the pancakes have when they are ready for the plate. Well, I know how to cut whatever calories the finished pancakes do have by a whopping 75%: Just make and eat one 2-inch pancake! This type of recipe is why so many diets don't work.

True about the sugar free syrup I am no cook but I find that using sugar free syrup is actually yummy. I even find myself using less of it than when I've used the regular kind. Now about all the other stuff its a little too much. Some substitution is okay but its about eating healthy and not making things complicated.

My son is allergic to eggs and so we substitute applesauce in the batter. Just use 1/4 cup applesauce per egg called for. This works better if the batches are kept smaller. Tastes just as great and is also benefitial for my husbands cholestoral

what about sprinkling some stevia powder on top of the pancakes after you've cooked them? it's really sweet and a natural alternative to the sugar substitutes.plus, it has zero calories, carbs, glycemic index, and zero chemicals!!

Substitute club soda for the mild in pancakes. The soda has no fat and makes the pancakes light as a feather.

If I ate those - I would FEEL GUILTY. I would knowingly be putting chlorinated sugar (SPLENDA) in my body and I would be using fat free milk- what a waste of money! When I make pancakes I use all organic ingredients and always use whole organic milk. I switched to organic whole milk long ago and I still look like a string bean compared to the people in the store who buy fat free skim milk. NOURISH yourselves people! Organic food tastes so much better and your body will be happy. Organic maple syrup- just a drizzle- can be used and is beneficial to your health as it is the only ALKALIZING sweetener you can use. Organic strawberries and walnuts make a great addition to your pancakes made with organic flour. I guarantee mine taste better than this recipe- AND instead of being guilty - I know it nourishes me and gives me energy to get out and take a walk if need be :)

My favorite pancake topping is applesauce. Recently while at a hotel, they didn't have applesauce, so I used the lowfat, splenda sweetened cherry yogurt as my pancake topping. It was great! Will do that more often even at home.

I started with the basic Joy of Cooking pancakes. I use twice the baking powder -- makes it fluffier. I use 1 cup of yogurt and a bit less than 1 cup of milk instead of 1 1/3 cups milk, and replace half the flour with whole wheat. If I know we're using maple syrup I cut out most of the sugar, or I actually add extra sugar but don't use syrup. Since no one in my family has cholesterol problems I use two eggs rather than one to add protein. Sometime I add bananas or apples, and sometimes a little wheat germ. Nobody has ever complained -- in fact, my pancakes are famous throughout the neighborhood. Be sure to use a lot of baking powder -- it keeps them fluffy, and that's what makes them so good!

Soy milk is very healthy once you use organic and non GMO, It's the genetically modified ingredients and pesticides that are the baddies not the soy milk also you should look at where its coming from in order to insure the health of the planet which in turn comes back to your health. Back to basics for a healthier life!

Here is a great way to make some protein pancakes. 1.2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup egg beaters, and a little bit of sweetner (splenda, sugar free syrup, etc...). Place all in blender and cook it like you would regular pancakes. Then mash a banana up until it has a thick liquid like consistency, and use that as your topping.

My ultimate skin glower is dirty steroid creams, bcos they contain so many evil germs that you own robotic/cyborg antibodies revolt and know what not to b like, and they start working for you. Only the medication was mainly (99%) a vehicle to trap the actual steroid germs away from your aurora and personal skins breathing space. . . thankyou Lord. . . damn I hate xma bcos it make you destroy any antibodies and surrounding space that gives-in to germs, by ripping it off with your nails, b4 it feeds back into your body!!!!!!!
