I can't imagine asking the waiter to pack up half your food before you eat. I would rather just eat slowly and use some common sense--THEN have the waiter box up the leftovers.
Those were good suggestions. I have a few myself. You should try and eat breakfast every morning and drink lots of water. I lost lots of weight by having a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of water every morning. I also would eat in small portions like every two hours you should be feeding your appetite so that it doesn't start thinking that it's starving. I'm going into my Weight Watchers mode! No, seriously water and small healthy portions will keep you satisfied.

Number 5 DOES make sense! It's good advice many nutrionists dole out. Why test your self-control, or risk eating 3/4 of your meal and throwing the rest away? The pre-doggie bag is a good idea.

Try oatmeal in the morning with a slice or two of toast, very little butter, drink lots of water and then get off your lazy butt and workout every day. Skip the extra salt and sugar, avoid carbonated drinks, especially diet pop which stirs up your appetite and eat sensible portions. I've lost 34 pounds, had my blood pressure go down to normal and my cholesteral drop since last November, when I started this regime.

Dan B...grow up. If the world is so bad, it's cause you're making it that way for yourself..not people trying to help people eat healthier. You're the problem..not the world. :-)

Learn to cook great dishes from the produce and meat isles at the grocery store, stay out of the other isles, enjoy and save money and pounds. Use common sence like these suggestions...

olddetroitiron" Are you seriously that dumb? Have you ever eaten at an establishment that you are actually "served" or "catered" too? Your comment sounds like Mikey D's and Burger King has been your limited experience. Try this: Go to a Ruby Tuesday, Applebees, Outback (large chain restaurants) and be seated. Someone actually comes to your table to serve you. Once you order, ask your server/waiter (because that's what they do) place 1/2 the portion into a "to-go" box prior to serving. Sure, you may lose some of the asthetics of looks, but thats the price for losing weight. Hope this helps. Signed: White Pompus

These are all great ideas. But, I'm hypoglycemic, tried dieting and all ways get shakes, light headed, or my sugar drops and someone has to feed me. What are some inbetween snacks to keep my blood sugar up? Or where so I go for eating suggestions for someone like me. Need to loose 20 lbs.

Actually, boxing half of your meal prior to being served is a very logical idea seeing as how most restaraunt's give double the portion than necessary for an individual. Plus, if you try and be conservative while it is in front of you, you will be caught in that "one more bite won't hurt" dillema.

Eat your normal diet with the following exception: Do not consume any food containing partially hydrogenated vegetable oil or high-fructose corn syrup. In fact, do not worry about that second helping of biscuits and gravy, as long as you follow the rule above.
I am sure this will spark some debate.
