I usually drink a 16 ounce Lo-Carb Monster energy every day and have been for almost 2 years now if I recall right. Its only got 6 grams of sugar per can, and im usually a pretty healthy eater and stay on a good and routine sleep schedule. I dont like coffee, so I drink these. I havent had any of the symptoms described by some of you. No depression or fatigue. Gives me a boost when I wake up the same as coffee would. No burnout or anything.

When I was in the Navy, I used to drink three "POTS" of coffee a day just to be wound up most of the day. Now I'm 52, had a stroke in 2004, and drink 32 oz of Mountain Dew a day and feel much better..

Well I don't like STARBUCKS anyway, strong coffee overpriced, diet Coke leaves a bad after taste, ya know aspertame is bad for you , so I will stick to a case of MONSTER ENERGY drink a week. (16oz/can 2 servings) Why can't we drink what we want as long as it is legal, and pay the price for any damage it may or may not cause.....and ENVIGA if you can stand the tase go ahead and drink it........just give me my MONSTERs and DrPepper and I am a happy camper, (with loads of energy)!!

One of my local news stations did a segment on caffeine and Starbucks came out on top for having the most caffeine in their decafe coffee because they didn't clean the coffee makers on a regular basis which lead to a build-up.

No parent should EVER EVER give this "liquid meth" to a child!! As a teacher, I have seen kids bring energy drinks to school in their lunch and yes, they are the ones with the disciplinary problems and poor grades. Studies have been out for a long time how children with amped up sugar in their diets are at risk for not only diabetes but it impedes on their learning as well. If you want to feed your kids energy drinks, pop tarts and powdered donuts for breakfast KEEP THEM AT HOME!

What I find funny is all this info is listed on the side of the bottle it comes in. Caffeine For a 20 oz bottle of Coke is 57 mg. Its stated on the bottle. so next time you want one of these drinks just read the Nutrtion Facts. Also the reason the companys are heating up their ads.. ITs a very hot market for these teas and Energy drinks. People are switching from soft drinks to these kind of drinks because they think its healthier than soft drinks. Its called marketing and seeing how there are so many new brands the only way to get your name known is to put it out there and thats what they are doing.

did anyone read the article somewhere in the web about where coke got it's name. It said something about it having a little cocaine back then. They also say that the effects of cocaine are the same as those as caffeine. The only difference is that caffeine is legal and every one is hooked on it including the president.

And we gave up amphetamines for this? LOL
Last time I went to Starbucks, my drink had so much caffiene I left with a headache. Everybody's so caught up in the next new "trendy" drink, they fail to mention none of these drinks taste good at all. Kind of like drinking flavored chemicals.

The article is simply saying that caffeine isn't all bad, that it scientifically has some benefits, not that you should drink caffeinated products all day every day. It debunks the old theory that any caffeine is horrible for you, and finally it is proven so. I am a coffee drinker, and I think it's nature's alert elixer. I keep it to an average of 2 cups per day and I feel great. Keeping out the sugar of course! I stay away from anything labeled caffeine in a can. If it doesn't come from the ground, it's probably not good for you people.

Yes why wasnt tea on there! Black or green it may have a bit less caffine than say a cup of coffee but it has lots of antioxidants and is much healthier for you!

Dear snippersthelion:
How illogical to name something "evil," as if caffeine were alive. IF you read the article, then you would have realized that caffeine can be used in moderation. When the first testing was done, it was suggested that it was harmful.
