I buy bottled water for my home but I noticed that I am not as quick to reach for a bottle then I am to reach for a pitcher of water. I buy bottled water, but for coffee, tea, and even cooking, I boil water. I drink boiled water better than I drink bottled water. So I am definitely going to print this article to stick it to my fridge.

Everybody loves to take shots at bottled water. When they do they always bring up New York tap water. Yes, their water is tasty but, who wants to move to New York. By the way, Great Bear B/W in New York does a brisk business. As far as land fills you could make the same point with every beverage we drink. The bottom line is water is necessary and one of the best things for our bodies we can consume and good bottled water tastes far better than 90% of tap waters. It's sure one heck of a lot better for you than soda, coffee...etc Yes, gas can be cheaper. What's that got to do with anything.

Tap water has chlorine in it, which is harmful for your body. Also, not all cities add fluoride. To reduce plastic water bottles in landfills, re-use the 1 gallon or 5 gallon bottles, and fill a nalgene bottle.

The tap water in Westlake Village, California tastes aweful. Any suggestions on a good filtration system that provides really good tasting water at a reasonable price?

I only wish I was the PT BARNUM who started to sell something they can get for free-or close to free. Well there is always air! Anyone out there willing to pay me 1 penny for every breath? Just 1 penny please.

This is the first good article I've seen on Yahoo for a while. Most of the other ones do pointless surveys or other dumb things that they pay big money to research. I love the tap.

I only drink bottled water when it's the only alternate. Always suspected bottled water to be a ripoff. But people are fooled. Pretty labels. Groovy idea but yuppies, get with it.

Go figure, I drink tap water but my dog gets bottled water. He has inflammatory bowel disease and the slightest change in his food or water can send him in to IBD overdrive....vomitting...etc....I buy purified water for him. It does bother me however all the plastic bottles we go through.

One thing this article fails to mention is that while the water is tested daily, that's at the water plant. Have you looked in your water pipes in your house by the water heater? My plumber showed me mine when he replaced my water heater. He said that's why he'll never drink tap water. That he always buys bottled. He said that 98% of homes he goes to has gunk in those pipes. the older the home, the more gunk. It was like a black sludge. yuk!

Also some tap water has too much chlorine and it tates like you are drinking out of a pool...so please try again. I prefer bottled! The only tap water I like it from my friends well.... luckily her well water taste like spring...

Tap water has choline and that reacts with organic matter found in water to produce carcinagenic byproducts. The best solution is filtered water from the tap - it removes many pollutants in water. You say they test tap water but not for pollution, just bacteria. Please tell the public the whole story. I agree about bottled water, but tap needs to be filtered!

I buy bottled water for my home. I have it delivered and I have a cooler.
Our water was found to be hazzerdous to drink they claim it is better now, but i am too scared to try it. There are still times you turn on the tap and brown water comes out.
