How do you fix the dough to beat Quaitly Pizza to die for? The ingreds are good that is suggested but flat dry store bought isn't something I would think a person might want to do by adding the extra work of getting fresh stuff verus the price comparison of just going to a pizza place or ordering in and then adding extras to make it seems like it is fresh out of the kitchen with it is noveau.ingreds?

I take Hungry Girl info with a big grain of salt. While she does try to lower fat and calories, almost everything she suggests is so full of chemicals it's just insane! What harm is that crap doing to our bodies?? seriously! How bout a suggestion not to go to a party starving, so you're less inclined to inhale a whole bowl of dip? Or bring a lower-fat item that you love, so you can focus on that and not be hostage to what your host serves? I'd say a better goal would be to strive for moderation in eating and increased exercise, and not replacing every item in your kitchen with a jar of chemicals.

Why even bother posting all of the negative comments? If you don't like the recipes, don't make them. Is that really all you have to with your time is to read recipes and comment on how horrible they are?

I think most of these recipes sound wonderful. I think that cutting back on fat is not really a bad idea, but as mentioned by many others Avacado is a good/healthy fat so I don't see the need to subsitue with peas. With our guacamole we skip mayo and don't use any store bought salsa that alone with cut calories and also avoid the chemical factor some readers are concerned about. We use fresh tomatoes, chilies, onions, garlic and add a bit of lemon juice. I like to add the lemon juice when I mash my avacado it seems to helps them smooth out faster and easier (at least for me). And I also have to add I wish there really weren't so many bad comments, suggest other options or constuctive ideas that might be helpful to others. I am thankful someone takes the time to try and make healthy alternatives it gives me guidelines and I adjust to my own taste and can come up with a happy medium. Since I am high risk for diabeties learning to eat healthy has become quite the challenge. And lastly cutting ALL fat isn't the answer...we all know the way to a healthy weight is exercise. Burn more calories than you intake, everything in moderation. Once again, I love this site it definately helps me with my goal of being healthier. Thank you.

anyone who makes that guacamole is kidding themselves. obviously fat from avocados is better for you than fat from mayonnaise; in fact its one of the good fats that we dont get enough of. as long as you dont make guac 5 times a week, you're definetely better off having real avocados than substituting them for peas and mayo

I'm surprised some people look down so much on vegetarian meat. Someone actually commented that real beef would be better because of all the chemicals put in veggie burgers. Unless you're buying organically fed beef with no hormones, let's not try to pretend it is any better. Veggie meat is made with ingredients like soy and vegetables.
People should at least give it a chance, since it's better for the environment and the animals. I'm not a complete vegetarian, but I try to eat meat rarely because of all the negative impacts.

In response to wonderwoman and tiger. Yes, we as a country do consume too much crap, however every BODY is different. I have just lost almost 80 pounds by eating a healthy LOW-FAT diet. I have found this works very well for me as my metabolisim is pretty much non-existant. I do not like guac at all, but the recipe didn't sound all that bad to me. Before you judge people for how they look and what they eat you should consider how hard it is to battle weight issues and let people eat what works for them. No one really cares what you think of the recipe on paper, try it before you bash it next time!!

Sounds like a decent Artichoke dip. I'll give it a try. I agree that wiil power, timing, and excersize will help you loose the weight. Also what you eat is very important. Eat a lowfat diet Mon-Sat, then Sunday treat yourself, not gorge. This way you still get the goodies you want just one day a week not everynight and or day. I'd like to see more recipes....Send them to me. Ultimately, lets enjoy or lives and bee happy with ourselves no mater what , we only get one go around , so lets not stress!!Chow

Fat Free recipes are a joke. If you eat whatever you want in moderation you will maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I eat 6 small meals a day. I am 46 and 243 lb. My check up last Friday blew the Doc's away. BP 108/72, the ole ticker perfect, Blood Sugar excellent. I lift weights etc... . Eat a huge variety of foods. Don't get in a rut. Have fun, enjoy it. Moderation!

That "guiltless" guacamole sounds gross to me! Why would anybody put mayo in guac?? Also, they mention the caloric content and fat content, but what about the carbs? It's not the fat that makes people fat, it's the carbs! As a diabetic, I am able to help lower my triglycerides and my blood pressure by eating avocados, which have almost twice as much potassium as peas. Peas, meanwhile, have a higher sugar & carb content, which raises the blood sugar. All I need for a delicious and healthy guacamole is an avocado, some adobo seasoning, and a spoonful or two of salsa to make it a little interesting. (Oh yeah - I also add a little fresh lime juice too.)

I think no fat mozzarella, sour cream, yogurt, egg substitute works great; and a lot of the flavor/texture always came from veg-
gies/herbs/spices/hot sauce/vinegar anyway. Oatmeal/whole
wheat sandwich thins/flax seeds/water are fine. Can't quite give
up coffee/booze. Do like green tea/fruit/Miso soup. Eat turkey
breasts sometimes. Like making my own mini pizzas w Boboli.

Ok, sorry If I come off rude here but I came on here to look for a good spinach dip recipe, which I found but then I happened to see some of the negative comments after I scrolled down a bit. First of all, I don't see how some of you can make negative comments about the recipes when you haven't even had any of them. It's so annoying.
