Yay I love this. I never feel like eating in the morning and I usually don't give myself enough time, so this is fabulous. I love that there's a big variety too!!!!

Good choices here's another choice: prep time: less than 5 minutes.
scramble 1 egg, add 1/4 salsa [you can add ham, bacon, green peppers, onions]
when scramble is done place 1/2 ounce cheese on top and cover and get tortilla, place on microwave plate. Add scramble to tortilla and place in microwave for 15 seconds. Options to add here: 1 tbls sour cream, hot sauce, lettuce
EAT! It's yummy.
CAL CARB PRO FAT
Egg: 75 ½ 6 5
cheese 55 1/2 4 4
low carb
tortilla 8 " 110 18 5 2
sr.cream 20 1 ½ 1
TOTAL 260 20 16 12
Enough wiggle room to add a piece of bacon or ???

I am a mom of three kids, my day starts at the break of day, with coffee and a cigarette. I eat healthy, and am on the go all day , but still I have trouble losing weight. Any suggestions?

Here's a suggestion, Patty - cut the smokes! Did you honestly think that wouldn't be detrimental to your health and ability to lose weight? Come on, now, and do yourself (and your kids) a favor.

So I need to watch all the sodium from the meats.. but I have lost 7 pounds, and i already take a water pill, so i know its not water weight. for you Patty, I have tried it all, and the healthy way of adkins isnt really bad for you. read up on it! It may be the change your body needs!

These ideas are great! I have 1 to ad. I make a batch of Biscotti once a week, and have 3 slices with my morning tea, while reading my mail. There are a ton of good recipes on the net. I like allrecipes.com. You can tweek these to your personal taste, by adding chips, nuts, dried fruits, diff. extracts, etc. I always dip mine in melted chocolate as well.

There is this great new cookbook out called "The Healthy Carb Diabetes Cookbook". It has a lot of really yummy, high-fiber (and easy) recipes in it. I love the Breakfast Cookie recipe...it has whole wheat flour, milled flax seed, peanut butter, bananas, oats, etc. in them and they keep me really filled up. I make them every Sunday for my hubby and I for the week. The book is good for people who don't have diabetes too (we don't but love the recipes). Check it out: http://www.amazon.com/Healthy-Carb-Diabetes-Cookbook/dp/1580402917/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1213730070&sr=8-1

I, for one, found this list to be totally useless. It caught my eye because I'm trying to lower my calorie intake (I'm at that age when weight starts to be an issue), but these recipes wouldn't even be a speed bump in front of the steamroller that is my hunger.

At our house we are lazy so we are so into the blend smoothie things. I recommend buying lots of berries (strawberries, blueberries, rasp) and freezing them, because fresh they go bad quick and this way I throw it all in the blender with a bannana and papaya and low fat milk, yummy and its quick and easy to take in the car, while I drive all over the place.Of course this is after my beloved coffee.

I have to say that all the info. on quick foods that you could enjoy in the morning, plus the listing of the calories is very nice. To see the facts on hand helps to get an idea of how many cal. you are taken in. I have lost the idea of what a portoin size looks like so this list gives me an idea. Thank you.

I have been on the South Beach diet and love it. Really do not feel "food" deprived at all. My breakfast is tomato cut up in small pieces, plus a slice of Canadian bacon in small pieces fried in a skillet with olive oil for a few seconds and then add half a cup of Egg Beaters. Very satisfying and quite healthy. Try it

Thanks for the article, particularly the nutrition information. I am under extreme stress caring for my terminally ill mother, is there certain foods or combination that will help support my overloaded system? I know the basics but my stress level is over the top right now.

I am 66+. Dibetic, hypertensive and had a heart attack in 2002. My weight is constantly increasing although my diet is balanced and generally not eating out and avoid fast food. Would like to have advice on how to reduce weight.

I like this very much although my breakfast is perfect for me: fresh juice of 1 lemon and 2 oranges, 1 yogurt with crunchy wholegrain cereals with sliced fruit-every morning different fruit ( banana, apple, blueberries...)

Everyone of these meal suggestions are way too low in fiber. It should have 3 g of fiber per 100 calories for healthy immune system, heart and intestine. Add some superfoods to each increase fiber (wheatgerm, chickpeas (hummus), black beans, cinnamon, etc...)!
