There are 364 (or 365!) other days in the year when one can try to eat healthier...Halloween is for REAL candy!

I agree healtheir foods are usually so much more expensive -without good reasons a lot of times solutions just buy the healthy stuff for you family and friends and the regular candy for the neighbors and strangers- besides its only for one night and the candy only last about a week-some of my best memories are sorting my candy and trading it with my sister and having it till it went bad or got thrown out- their kids let them be! Bad enough you can't make home treats.

this is a good idea, but come on, what kind of kid is going to want an organic gummy bear or a figamajig when they can go to another house and get skittles or hershey bars? It's only once a year.

Love the ideas. I'm glad someone gets it! We have to teach our children to make healthy choices now, before they are old, sick, and obese. Yes, it's worth the cost. The only thing worse than the Halloween candy are those nasty snack cakes they make for every holiday.

Come on Yahoo, I thought you would be smart enough to give us a clue where to buy these "treats". And I think the best place to hand these out is at the office only... kids want the good junky stuff for at least one night.

You can find all the stuff mentioned at the HEALTH FOOD STORE hey it's worth the try to get a kid to eat healthier, but not for a commercialized holiday it would be way too expensive, and not near as fun!

Trader Joes is the place to find many of these treats, or at least a bunch of really yummy ones... their lollipops are good, and they have plenty of chocolate covered nuts and clusters other than the edamame. I love healthy stuff, but that's pushing it for Halloween!

Healthy treats is a goodd ideal. I just don't want the kids in my hood to think I was cheap. I also think toys in their bags is a fun treat.

It is nice to see alternatives, however I am not about to go broke purchasing the healthier alternative that will most likely end up in the trash.

These all sound delicious. I have never had a figamajig but it sounds divine. All these sound like something any kid would love to find in his treat sack. Xocai chocolate snacks are also delicious and healthy treats. And they are miles ahead of cocoa via in health benefits because of the special cold processing. MyFitChocolate

It is up to the parents to permit or prohibit their child's intake of candy and other goodies that are unhealthy. Organic foods are great (we eat and drink them), but they are costly: about twice as much for any food product and at least double that for milk and juice. I won't be spending my entire paycheck on Halloween "goodies."

I forgot to mention my kids would NEVER eat the organic candy or fruit snacks. And I agree that there is not too much logic in this article for "other people's kids." I agree that my house would get egged! (But not organic) :O)
