There are compounds in raw chocolate that stimulate the "good feeling" chemicals in the brain. Heck, everybody knows chocolate relieves stress just from our love of it, sitting down with a satisfying piece of dark chocolate always makes you feel better. But now we know that if the chocolate is pure and unadulterated, it does contain a lot of beneficial compounds and more antioxidants than any other food on the planet. myfitchocolate.com

You guys might want to try reading the fine print here- DECAF chai tea. Thus the anti-jitters part. I'm absolutely amazed at how many people get on here just to make fun of these recipes/suggestions. If you don't like them, don't use them. And keep your nasty comments to yourself.

Dark chocolate is pure not like milk chocolate with milk, and other stuff added. I am very sensitive to caffeine but dark does not keep me awake at night. Tea will make you have to go a lot so I do not suggest that. Plus if it has caffeine. Oranges are loaded with acid and will do the same as well as give acid stomach and keep one awake. . .

True pure chocolate contains such minute amounts of caffeine that it is usually not measurable. Chocolate companies add caffeine to their chocolate. And pure, unprocessed chocolate contains a chemical called PEA which is the "feel good" chemical, and theobromine and anadamides which also attribute to a feeling of well being. So you see, there is science to say chocolate relieves stress, but only if its the right kind of chocolate. MyFitChocolate

Those last two suggestions are a load of crap. The others probably work fine, but when the article suddenly shifts from factual nutrition to marketing bull [profane] I have to give a bad review. Just think about how many people are going to go for the chocolate (which it says not to in #1), and are going to start feeling sick from the fat and caffeine, two things that will really make you crash and burn when you're feeling anxious or have butterflies in your tummy.

I find that large amounts of alcohol are very effective in dealing with stress. Sometimes I wake up the next morning and can't even remember what I was worried about!

I will try. When it comes to fight anxiety I'll try anything. The info is kind believable but the Dark Chocolate part..I don't know..The tea can be useful if you try decaf but the choc..... I don't think so.

Wonderful information! I have most of these on my list of "foods to eat on a daily basis." I compiled this list after reading Dr. Amen's work, such as Making a Good Brain Great. It changed my entire view of food. Now I choose my meals based on how they can improve my brain health and lower stress. Good lookin' out!!!

I avoid soda 100%
Apples and Fish, as well as good quality proteins from a black bean burrito and eggs...especially peanut butter (just a table spoon of the stuff makes me feel ready to take on the day in the AM) seem to always make me feel more positive and alert.

I like all the foods mentioned....except I've never tried the Chai tea. I've have type II diabetes and doesn't look like any of it will kill me. Thanks to the Republicans will be eating cardboard and grass clippings about this time next year. About the only thing they haven't done yet is bring the Black plague upon the people of America.......(knock on wood). Ooops I'm straying from the subject...sorry about that.

chocolate is known to impart a certain euphoria -- it has the same chemicals released when one is in love! And chai simply means tea... not sugar... chai is Indian and they take it strong with lots of milk and sugar...
