Canned pumpkin is actually Hubbard Squash. It's not important, but the article should have mentioned it...

Mmmmm. Pumpkin. I thought pumpkin soup sounded awful, until I had some. Nice texture. Yum. I love these RealAge blogs!

I feed canned pumpkin to my dogs (Siberian Huskies) every day, mixed in with their normal dry dog food. They had diarrhea as puppies, and after ruling out every possible illness and trying different diets, our vet suggested pumpkin. They are so healthy, they love it, and it's cheap!

Try roasting the miniature pumpkins the same way you do acorn squash. It's the best and makes such a great presentation!

I made some pumpkin gravy...essentially a white sauce with a little pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice (ground cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg), salt and white pepper, and brown sugar. It is SO GOOD on everything. Pumpkin is the best. Thanks for further reinforcing that thought.

ladybug81228 varieties of canned pumkin are golden delicious or other wise known as hubbard 'squash', they are a lumpy red/orange/green skin, with orange flesh. Its good stuff. ;)
