1/2 your weight in water every day!?!?!?
Okay, I weigh 200 lbs. so, factoring that....
Roughly 100 16oz bottles of water a day? That is roughly 4.5 bottles an hour for 24 hours.
Does this sound kinda weird to anyone else? and maybe sorta kinda impossible?

What about for those of us who can't eat a lot of fruit because of the sugar content because we're either diabetic or pre-diabetic? What kinds of between-meal snacks would you recommend besides veggies?

good tips...the less processed food the better and not taking things out on food, go for a walk if you are upset;) if you eat something bad it does not ruin your entire day...in other words dont turn eating a cookie into being able to eat bad foods the rest of the day...or week...or month

I think some of the comments are well intentioned are juvenile at best. Granted from Ms Oz's perspective it worked but drinking half one's weight could lead to death. If someone is 150 lbs drinking 75 ounces of water ( about 9 glasses) is fine but if someone is 300 lbs then you telling them to drink 150 ounces (about 19 glasses) of water. The body would shut down and you would die from drowning!

i disagree with the eating breakfast thing. I used to eat breakfast everyday...a cereal, a fruit something and it used to weight 40 lbs heavier than I do now. I stopped eating breakfast and changed nothign else and I loset 40 lbs...just by cutting out breakfast.

All of this works if your 20 or 30 something, but what about us over 50's, no matter what you do the weight stays on. I've resigned myself to using diet pills to keep the metabolism up.
I do all that. I walk 5 to 10 miles per day, bike up to 17 miles several times per week, count calories, eat only low-glycemic fruit for dessert. And I cannot lose weight, and my BMI of 31 lists me as obese. I hardly ever sit and watch TV, either. Had a full physical; no thyroid problem, but body temp of 96.8, so I don't use up heat (heat = calories). So this advice is not for everyone.

High sugary foods tend to make me eat more sugar to keep up that sugar high, so I try to eat snacks with less sugar. Also, very salty foods like chips makes me reach for sugary foods. Pretty soon I'm eating sweet, salty, sweet, salty. So, small amounts of less sugar and salt foods with lots of water helps me regulate my food intake.

I agree with everyone on here that h as said that is too much water. I weight 325 lbs, if I drank 162.5 oz. of water every day, I might actually die. I would never have room to eat, for one thing, and any nutrients I did get in would be promptly flushed from my body. That claim is ridiculous.

I like your comments. Here are a couple more: 1) Log everything you eat for a week or two. Sometimes we lose perspective about correct portion sizes. This will get you back to reality. 2) Get out and enjoy the outdoors. It helps your state of mind and gets you away from the refrigerator.

Good tips - mostly it is a good motivational read. I often find that even if I am reading about diet tips I am already aware of and know, it is a nice push in the right direction.

I'm doing Weight Watchers and have lost 17 pounds in two months. It's sensible eating, exercise, and portion control that works for me and I'm almost 58.

Question: If you weigh 230 pound; does that mean I will have to drink 28 (8) ounces of water everyday? Or am I calculating it wrong. Thanks, I would appreciate an answer to sm070969@yahoo.com.
thanks
