I especially liked the comment on counting to your age for each time you cheat. That was a new one to me.

"Drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily, including one glass before every meal." -- this is a misguided suggestion and should be ignored especially if you weigh over 128 pounds! You need at most 8 glasses of water (64 ounces) minus the liquid in the food you are eating. So really you need to drink 6 glasses of water directly. There have been numerous studies which show that TOO MUCH water is BAD for your health!

That's a lot of water to drink! I would also try the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type diet. I keep myself thin, eat as much as I like, but just sticking to the diet is the main course of action.

This actually makes sense and doesn't require eating stuff that doesn't taste so good.

Some people like me don't like fruits not because they're not tasty, but because they upset the stomach. My new discovery: Fruit smoothies!

how about weight loss for us older gals? It's easy to loose weight when you are young. It's a difficult task as we get older, slower metabolism, hormones etc. I work out daily, eat well and I cannot budge the scales!

This is great information but it's nothing really new. Everyone recycles the same tips, slaps a new title on it and publishes it. The thing is, we all know what we need to do, it's just getting the motivation to do it. I know when I'm hungry I should be eating a piece of baked chicken the size of my fist with no salt.... but it's not what I want. I'm not trying to be discouraging, I guess I'm looking for a different angle.

All the diets I see in magazines are low-calories (1400 to 1500 calories).

I agree that drinking a lot of water helps you loose weight. I was 150 lbs a month ago until I started threadmill 30mins. a day and drink lot of water when I feel hungry and foremost cut-off carbs. Amazingly now I only weigh 135 lbs! Lossing 15lbs. for one month not bad just by drinking a lot of water!
