Its amazing how so many experts can have so many different opinions. One nutritionalist says watch the carbs and sugar, hold the fats. The other says eat carbs just watch the fat and calories. Everyone thinks they know what is right when there isno real right aanswer becauseit depends on the metabolism of each individual person. It depends on how each of our bodies responds to what we put in it. I say eat what you want and suffer the consequences. reality is if it tastes good its probably bad for you. If it tastes like crap,ie salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, its probably good for you. stick with that theory and your on the right track.

These recipes aren't only for people to try to lose weight. They're for people who are diabetic. More carbs equal more sugars. Which is obviously not good!
seriously, most of the things listed here are common sense. although i have never heard of grilling fruit. hmmm. but to be honest, its like if you're eating ice cream, you probably know its not good for you. LET THE PEOPLE EAT! if you're eating corn with butter, (btw w/o tastes just as good =] )or white pasta WHATEVER! just dont overdo it. my memere ate all the foods that are supposedly "bad" and still lived to be over 100. there are places for extreme healthy eating- barbeques aint it. enjoy life.
I agree with Kat, its one day a year....like Thanksgiving...everybody complains about gaining weight during this time....eat in moderation, dont overindulge, and by the way TOFU TURKEY on thanksgiving?????? You have got to be kidding me!

Why does everyone talk #!@$% about every article ever written. If you don't like the ideas then don't try them. Stop complaining already. Everything is bad for everyone-eat whatever you want in moderation.

I love fresh anything. Fruit is wonderful any way you can get it. Corn on the cobb is wonderful too. Yes, you do need butter just in a small quanity. Beans are a wonderful protein and fill one up.

Yes, leave the processed foods alone. But how's this for a BBQ suggestion? Spend less time at the picnic table and more time being active (playing games, swimming, etc.) You'll eat less and burn more calories. Also, skip the "diabetes in a can" (sugar soda) and the "chemistry set in a can" ("diet" soda) and drink some water. To lose weight and keep it off is very simple, eat fewer calories than you burn. Of course, being simple DOES NOT mean that it is easy...but it is very rewarding. I encourage anyone out there who desires to be healthier. God bless!
Italian dressing is more flavorful than mayo,( but look out for sodium in certain fat-free product!) Try substituiting plain yogurt for mayo in potato salad if you need to lay off the salt it tastes great! It makes me so mad when ignorant people accuse natural already-in-there fruit sugar to be as evil as chemically altered sweetener junk. LIBERATE yourself from dependence on butter, sugar and gobs of salt! I can't wait to try these recipies!
