well, I agree with chrisvasugrue and d0ligurl...stop the obsession, eat in moderation, but eat what you like, get you some regular exercise, and quit worrying so much about it....life is short, enjoy it a little....besides, if you are really needing to lose a lot of pounds, you are going to have to make life-long changes, and these choices mentioned above are not choices that most people would be able to live with for the rest of their lives...

Set up a free account at www.sparkpeople.com there you can find ALL kinds of lists like this one...helpful articles, support from other member plus recipes for the women looking for food for her and her kid... I've been a member for 4 years and love it there (I actually joined when it cost money, but it's been free now for a few years).

No such thing as healthy potatoes or crackers. Peanut butter generally contains hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils. If you want to learn how to eat, try these links: http://robbwolf.com/ http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/ http://projectfit.org/iflifeblog/ crossfit.com Comment #24: The reasons people should not "eat what they want and be happy": (1) How many really fat people do you know who are happy with the way they look and feel? Thats what I thought. (2) Fat people get diabetes and heart disease. And while people may not live forever, they can dramatically increase the length and improve the quality of their lives with good diet, weight training, and sleep.

Sorry, the whole idea of the 100 calorie packs are convenience, these are recipes and are work! Try the Hostess cinnamon coffee cakes pack, they have 5 grams of fiber to a pack! and they taste great. Also, I pack blueberries, almonds, and crystal lite 16.9 bottles of lots of their flavors, they have little or no calories and fill you up.

Pretty ok, but did you check the ingredients for hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils? These are huge oxidants and very very NOT good for you.

Hey Nik-- try organic apple slices with peanut butter, carrots and hummus, make smoothies with frozen organic berries, bananas & yogurt, popcorn (microwaved popcorn is NOT healthy), sugar snap peas, cashews, cucumber slices, fruit slices, grapes, melon-- also Trader Joe's and Cliff make some healthy snack bars for on-the-go. Stay away from all drinks other than water and organic milk (except maybe that bottle of whiskey under your desk). Remember, for little kids the presentation is a big part of making something appetizing. Family Fun has some cute things you can do like celery men with raisin eyes, etc. Good luck and good health!

I appreciate your list but for some reason, nothing sounded like a snack that would work for me personally. I wondered if others might agree. I guess most everything on this list does not appeal to me except Edamame which taste great but if I were to eat those "like nuts" during the day while at work, I would get severe gas - so that's a no-go for me. And, I already eat oatmeal for breakfast - so that's not something I would look forward to snacking on during the day. I know they are just suggestions, but I have another suggestion - just make a list of things that taste good to you personally and that you know feels good to your body to snack on - it is an indivual thing - just remind yourself daily that snacks only serve us when they are small and help energize us - if you are snacking for any other reason convince yourself to have a glass of water or cup of tea instead - I go for the real food snacks - a half of a crispy cold apple or banana, a couple wholesome crackers and cheese slices, unsalted toasted almonds, a couple bites of a Balance bar (always tucked in my purse or briefcase), a handful of raw carrots, a small low fat yogurt, sometimes a spoonful of peanut butter or almond butter just gives me that shot of protein and energy I need to get by! Snacking right is easy - avoid junk food and sugary snacks and grab no more than a small handful of some kind of real food that works for you, something that smells and tastes good too or else....you know very well what happens....make your own list of real foods that you know you like and will happily turn to for a healthy snack - one that your body will appreciate as much as your taste buds!

Or ... go to your local farmers market and pick up whatever looks yummy. A fresh peach bursting with flavor, a vibrant red tomato to drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, a handful of fresh salted pistachios. Whatever you find will be absolutely in season and not anything like what you find in grocery stores. There will be no need to embellish, and you will feel you've given yourself a very special treat. And price-wise, it compares favorably with packaged stuff.

one of the best snacks i've found is FROZEN (sugarfree)JELLO!!!!! actually, i hate jello ordinarily, and see no reason to eat such an artificial mess, but...... frozen, it is much like sorbet, except it has only 10 calories each!!! my kids love it too!!!

EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. BUY THE BOOK CALLED "EAT THIS, NOT THAT." IT WILL HELP YOU MAKE "BETTER" CHOICES. CUT BACK ON PROSSESED OR PRE-PACKAGE FOODS AND ONE CUTS HALF THE BATTLE. BUY ALL NATURAL OR ORGANIC WHEN POSSABLE AND YOU WILL NOT ONLY BE HEALTHIER.... BUT YOU WILL BE "GREEN" TOO. CONCENTRATE ON BEING HEALTHY, NOT OBSESSING ABOUT WEIGHT. ITS JUST A NUMBER!

A really yummy snack is make your own pita chips. Buy Whole Wheat Pitas and cut into triangles and seperate into single (instead of pocketed) pieces.. Spray with butter flavored walmart spray (or PAM) and sprinkle with seasoned salt, Mrs. Dash or garlic. Bake until crisp......a bag of pita is under $2.00 and it makes a big batch.

I agree with Ninawillis. real food is the best, and sometimes we snack out of habit when we could just have a cup of tea or an iced tea with lemon or something. I also agree about the fat free greek yogurt. AMAZING!! I prefer trader joes fat free greek yogurt ...its creamier and less sour. great with vanilla and sweetener. add some fruit for a healthy yummy snack. I would like to know more about the frozen jello idea.
