What is the cure for the gray, dry, restaurant hamburger syndrome? Has anyone tried handing liability waivers to waiters before ordering?

BY far Ruby Tuesday has the best burgers. Here you are able to taste the burger over the bun and they will leave it pink!

Honestly if you can get Houlihans to cook your burger to the correct temperature, they are the best "chain" burgers out there. I usually get the burger with blue cheese and bacon with this tomato relish stuff and it is quite impressive (but still not as good as most local independent restaurants).

The waiter/server makes minimum wage and has no bearing the food preparation...try telling an underpaid line cook that you're not going to bring that burger to the table and your next week's worth of orders is going to take two weeks...hand the waiver to the manager, that is who should be overseeing production. And, I agree Houlihan's has a great burger which is always prepared to my specs.

In-and-Out burger in California is the best. Outside of California I think the Stadium in Rockford, IL is the best.
