The In-N-Out Secret Menu

Here's a tidbit that every self-respecting burger fan should know about: In-N-Out's secret menu. When a simple cheeseburger isn't enough, you can try some of these ca-razy combinations:
  • 4-by-4: four meat patties and four slices of cheese
  • 2-by-4: two meat patties and four slices of cheese

Note: You can get a burger with as many meat patties or cheese slices as you want. Just tell the In-N-Out Burger cashier how many meat patties and how much cheese you want and that is what you'll get! For instance, if you want 6 pieces of meat and 10 pieces of cheese tell them you want a "6-by-10."

  • Animal style: The meat is cooked and fried with mustard and then pickles are added, extra spread and grilled onions are added.
  • Flying Dutchman: two meat patties, two slices of melted cheese and nothing else - not even a bun!
  • Neapolitan shake: strawberry, vanilla and chocolate blended together.

And that's just a taste as there are still more options. For those of us who don't live in California, Nevada, or Arizona and can't make it to an In-N-Out easily, Badmouth.net has sampled the entire secret menu and taken photos.

i knew about it because my roomate works there, they have grilled cheese too for the vegetarians out there. the only problem with the secret menu is that you have to memorize it to choose what you want...that kinda sucks

There's also Protein-style that leaves out the buns and just has it in a lettuce wrap.

Lots of people actually know about this, it's kind of sad, that it's making headlines... It's pretty prevalent here in So.Cal.

They also make animal fries as well and they are my favorite thing. Its an order of fries topped with thousand island dressing, grilled onions and melted cheese.

Yeah, totally knew that. It seems that Yahoo doesn't know you can also order your FRIES animal style. You can also request "30-second fries" (fries that are left in the frying oil for ONLY 30 seconds) or "well done fries" (dark brown, extra crunchy fries). And did everyone know that In-N-Out prints Biblical references on their paper products, even on the cups? Yeah... check under the lower rim of ANY cup... you'll see.

Very interesting how this made the Yahoo main page, especially considering that it's only available in Arizona, Nevada, and of course, California. But I guarantee if you have a chance to eat it, you won't be sorry. I get the 4x4 (Sometimes 5x5) and the Animal style fries, very tasty. It's a heart-attack platter, but if you ever have the opportunity - go there, In-N-Out is simply amazing.

I work at an In-N-Out, and you can't actually get as many patties as you would like. That used to be the case, but the quality of the burger went way down when we were making burgers with 75+ pieces of meat and cheese. The highest you can go is a 4x4.

You left my favorite one out! Additionally, there is the option of Protein Style burgers...a burger with everything you want on it, but in a lettuce wrap as opposed to a bun!
